SAN JOSE (KRON) — Officers arrested a 24-year-old man Friday after they had released a photo of him, along with others, asking the public to help identify suspects connected to assaults that happened during a rally for Donald Trump in San Jose last week.

Officers arrested San Jose resident Anthony Yi on suspicion of robbery, assault and battery, according to police.

The arrest stems from three separate incidents in which Yi allegedly robbed one victim and then assaulted two other people at the rally, police said.

The rally, which drew hundreds of protestors, occurred on June 2 outside the San Jose Convention Center, where the presumed Republican Party presidential nominee was scheduled to make an appearance.

One officer suffered a minor injury to his wrist during the event after someone threw a metal object at the officer, according to police.

In addition to Yi, eight other people have already been arrested in connection with the violence that occurred at the rally.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old San Jose resident who allegedly carried out two battery incidents on separate victims, one of which had gang overtones, and vandalism on private property, police said.

Another 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from San Jose, were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and a 16-year-old Milpitas resident was arrested on suspicion of battery, according to police.

Officers also arrested San Jose residents Robert Trillo, 18, Antonio Fernandez, 19, and Santa Clara resident Ahmed Abdirahman, 19, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

Additionally, Michael Kitaigorodsky, 19, also of San Jose, was arrested on suspicion of refusing to disperse, according to police.

Police are continuing to investigate the many incidents that occurred at the rally and are asking for the public’s help to identify additional suspects.

Anyone with more information is being asked to call San Jose Police Department’s Assault’s Unit at 408-277-4161 or file a report online.

So they had to be shamed into doing their job? Let me get this right, police departments are now politicized depending upon the political apparatchiks running the city?

I’d advise anyone going to any Trump rally, and/or to the RNC in Cleveland, to read up on the legality of pepper spray use in that place, to take a course (with target practice) on its use, and above all, TRAVEL IN A TEAM THAT HAS PRACTICED VIDEOGRAPHING ITS MEMBERS. That is critical. Without videophones and the like, these filth would get away with it or worse, lie that their victims were the perps.

It is just a dog and pony show. After the heat has died down, the charges will be quietly dropped or the cases dismissed.

Saw a News report this evening that Cleveland Police only have had 3 days crowd training. That was last year per FEMA.

They are ill equipped, disorganized, and feel the city is not backing them. This is why other police agencies that committed to assist have backed out.
They believe there is no planning in place whatsoever. In the interview The Cleveland Councilman in charge lied, misrepresented, and deflected questions about security.

Yes. And if it continues....Katy bar the door. Which is, I’m sure, what they’re hoping.

The story is written in such a way that it is easy to believe these were Trump supporters.

I do not see anything in the article that connects these individuals to the protests.

A friend told me Ohio has carry reciprocity with IN. Believe he said other states as well. Not sure how they will handle security at the door. Lockboxes, like at the bus station maybe?

so have they arrested anyone for violation of 185 PC. They should have declared the protesters an unlawful assembly the minute protesters showed up with their faces covered and acting violently.

[185.] Section One Hundred and Eighty-five. It shall be unlawful
for any person to wear any mask, false whiskers, or any personal
disguise (whether complete or partial) for the purpose of:
One—Evading or escaping discovery, recognition, or identification
in the commission of any public offense.
Two—Concealment, flight, or escape, when charged with, arrested
for, or convicted of, any public offense. Any person violating any of
the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor.

Hard to tell from the article, is Anthony Yi a rioter or a Trump supporter.
You don’t think Yama Hazheer would do that on purpose, do you?
I do.

There was no “violence that occurred at the rally”! I was there.

The people at the rally were pleasant and peaceful. The violence was in the streets AFTER the rally by people who were not at the rally, and DIRECTED AT the peaceful attendees who WERE at the rally.
