Senator Cruz Defends 2A on the Floor of the Senate, Excoriates Obama Terrorism Fail

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz

Senator Ted Cruz does a superb job of exposing Democrats using a terror attack to attack the Constitution.  As is to be expected, the leftist media is attacking it as a “terrible” speech.  Read or watch it for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Mr. CRUZ.

Madam President, our Nation is at war. Five days ago, we saw a horrific terror attack in Orlando, FL. From September 11 to the Boston Marathon, from Fort Hood to Chattanooga, from San Bernardino to this attack in Orlando, radical Islamic terrorism has declared jihad on America. As the facts have unfolded, they now indicate that the Orlando terrorist had pledged his allegiance to ISIS in the process of murdering 49 and wounding more than 50 at a nightclub.

All of our hearts go out to those who were murdered. To the families of those who were victims and who are grieving, we stand in solidarity, we lift them up in prayer at this horrific act of terrorism. But it is also a time for action. We need a Commander in Chief who will speak the truth, who will address the enemy we face, who will unleash the full force and fury of the American military on defeating ISIS and defeating radical Islamic terrorists.

In the wake of the attack, many of us predicted what would unfold, and it was, sadly, the same political tale we have seen over and over again. Many of us predicted that Democrats would, as a matter of rigid partisan ideology, refuse even to say the words “radical Islamic terrorist”; that they would suggest this attack was yet another isolated incident, one lone criminal, not connected to any global ideology, not connected

The link has the text of the speech in full, and a link to the video for those who wish to watch it. It is a great speech.

Good. I hope Ted is getting back on track after his meltdown in the primaries.

I have posted the entire text of the speech on Ammoland. Because of my agreement with them, I may not post the entire article from Ammoland here. I believe the speech deserves to be spread far and wide. Thank you so much for your assistance.

When is Ted Cruz going to endorse Donald Trump?

After the attack he himself perpetrated on the Constitution I don’t trust him one bit regardless of what he’s saying. Actions speak louder than words.

After getting to know him I don’t like Cruz at all but I’ve got to admit he was right on the money with the substance of this speech.
In any event, action talk and BS walks. If he’s serious about what he says, then when does he start supporting the GOP presumptive nominee?
Is he still hatching some scheme? At this point whether true or not it looks like he’s still in with the nevertrump gang. To say they oppose him is ludicrous. They were backing him when he appeared to be the neo-cons’ “last ditch effort”.
He wants a kick-off speech? If he stops sulking on the beach in his tent and joins the war against Hitlery and Obama redux, give it to him.

I’ll say again...If the FBI didn’t have to use 100 plus agents to investigate Crooked Hillary perhaps they would have had a better chance to stop some of these Radical Islamic attacks on the American people!

Probably never; he's pretty entrenched in the globalist cabal's mindset and that precludes any sense of nationalism.
(His running for President when he was certainly ineligible also shows that his allegiance is not with the Constitution.)

As a conservative, I hope that we engage in more trade deals with foreign nations.

Thanks for posting. Senator Cruz is one of only four US Senators rated A+ by GUNOWNERS of AMERICA. That he is pro-Second Amendment cannot be disputed.

Trump really dropped the ball on this, rushing to negotiate with GOPe and the left even before all the facts were in. The facts are that the governement was amply warned about this guy, but the bureaucrats did nothing, no doubt out of fear of getting on Obama’s Islamophobia list.

As a former Cruz supporter, this incident and Trump’s failure to articulate his opposition to the lawsuit judge is raising fresh doubts as to whether Trump can pull it off.

In a post-Trump world, I am pretty much done with beautifully crafted speeches. Cruz talks for a living, that’s why I’ve backed the guy that actually DOES something rather than speak about it. I don’t want to hear another beautiful speech again, ever.

Imagine FDR responded like Obama on December 8, 1941 saying that the Pearl Harbor attack was caused by too many nations having easy access to aircraft carriers and more treaties were needed to prevent this and that we should not blame the attack on the Japanese people.

As a conservative, I hope that we figure out how not to.

Cruz covers it very well. This administration has hobbled the FBI from any serious investigation of Muslims in this country.

The only ways to reduce foreign trade naturally, that I would go along with, are:
1. widespread and efficient use of 3d printing
2. expanded robotics

I could could care less about slowing the American economy just to give the average American man with average intelligence a crap manufacturing job so that he can feed his family.

I understand your point.

But, China and many others outright steal intellectual property from the United States with impunity.

That should be fought, and it can be.
