There is a good reason to take Assad down. If you recognize that Iran is at war with you, and you recognize that Syria is Iran’s window to the Mediterranean and the broader world, then taking him down closes that window. It would be the first step toward a take-down of Iran.
But we are helping Iran get a nuke. And we are encouraging them to increase their influence in Iraq. So, with that in mind, what on earth would be the reason to take down Assad if you are in bed with his patron?
IMHO, as bad as the Snake Department has been for all these many years, most of these “warmongers” would not be coming out like this if it were not for all the Saudi/Arabian Peninsula bribe $$$$$$ to replace Assad with an IslamoNazi (he’s more or less semi-secular) and shove their pipeline dream thru Syrian territory...etc.

Are these the same dozens of diplos who goaded Bush into toppling Hussein and goaded obama into toppling Gaddafi and thereby created the power vacuum in the Mideast that induced the rise of ISIS? Why is it any business of the United States to overthrow Assad? When you look at the millions of displaced refugees and the thousands upon thousands of dead, how can you call it anything but a war crime? Obama, Hillary, and Kerry should all be on trial at The Hague.
