Trump affirms backing gun ban for those on terror watch list
Washington Examiner ^ | June 18, 2016 | John Siciliano

Donald Trump reaffirmed his stance on restricting individuals on the terror watch list from being able to purchase firearms, despite Republican objections.

"We have to make sure that people that are terrorists or have even an inclination toward terrorism cannot buy weapons, guns," Trump told ABC's White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl in an interview that will air Sunday on "This Week."

How dare you not applaud Dear Leader with all your strength?

You’d better leave FR!

What part of: Trump GOING LEFT ON 2A before he even has to, he hasn’t even been nominated yet, are you not getting?

If Trump is willing to dilute 2A *before* the convention, what do you imagine he might do in the general? Shift back right to harvest RAT votes? ?

There is no due process with the “terror” watch list ...

If due process is added then it should be doable.

The is the trouble with Trumpets. A Hillary type comment, such as denying people their 2nd amendment rights w/out due process if they end up on the “terror watchlist” coming out of Trump’s mouth (which are many) get pushed aside, ignored and excused. Trumpets give Trump a free pass to make all sorts of liberal, unconservative positions.

I don’t support any further empowering of this government to take action against suspected terrorists, because this government treats normal American citizens as suspected terrorists, and it treats actual islamic terrorists as normal American citizens.

I don’t trust this government at all, Donald.

I would add, Trump is in collusion with the NRA. He has repeatedly stated that all of Obama’s EOs, importations, etc. would be gone over with a fine tooth comb. That would also include Obama’s lists.

Again, this is taking what he has said out of contest. He adds a point here and there because he said that if he gave absolute specifics, they would be stolen from him by other candidates, ie. Cruz. Cruz repeatedly stole Trump’s positions and claimed them as his own. Then lied about Trump’s positions.

He will give some specifics after the nomination. Like he said, you have to keep some actions secret to avoid being trounced by the MSM who will do anything to stop him and seat Hillary who stated she is going to crush the 2A.

Repeating yet again, all departments, administration decisions will be gone over with a fine tooth comb. Anyone with terrorism ties will be deported. The no-fly list is just a start. It will be vetted to weed out innocent citizens and concentrate on terrorist ties.

This terrorist’s father was seen coming out of Clinton’s office when SOS. Think that had anything to do with the shooter being dropped from the FBI investigation?

I think Trump is misguided here and hasn't thought it through.

That's the problem with Trump, he always speaks before he has thought things through, like the comment about prosecuting women who have had abortions. He sticks his foot in his mouth so much, I wonder if he can close his mouth to chew his food or if it's permanently open for his size 12 mouth.

If someone is a citizen This is a right taken away without due process, which SHOULD be overturned in the judicial system.

If someone is not a citizen and on a watch list they should be thrown out of the country.

Amendment V

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

ConservativeTeen, you're keeping company with James Madison. He was here on FR long before Cruz arrived, and will be here on FR long after Donald Trump is gone. Don't give up your birthright for anyone.

No. No. The correct answer for a candidate is ‘no change on 2A on the party platform.’ Get out of that pretzel contortion, it’s draining the blood to your brain.

Stop coming on to this 100% Trump site and calling his supporters names, i.e. “Trumpets”. It’s just unnecessary and unhelpful.

You have some very good points to make, Tamar, and would be reach people who read your post more effectively if you would not insult them.

I support Mr. Trump 100%, AND I agree with what you have written! How about that! : )

Bottom line for me is:

Hillary is 100% Death for America.

Trump is 100% Life for America.

I am PRO LIFE!

DJT is a very good listener and a quick learner. He will soon learn the truth of what you have written!

“You realize that you’re a KNOWN cruzer, don’t you?”

Does that make ConservativeTeen’s comment less reasonable? Seems to me it was a very reasonable comment.

Absolutely. Trump makes a general policy statement and Loser Cruzers spin in the worst possible light to benefit of Hillary Rotten Criminal.

I missed how this became a birther thread, even though SCOTUS refused to hear his NBC case on May 17. This is a 2A thread.
Whatchu more worried about?

The two aren't exactly mutually exclusive: if the Constitution is supposed to be supreme law, it should be treated like it, whether it is NBC requirements or prohibiting Ex Post Facto law, or ensuring that civil cases w/ claims over $20 retain the right to jury trial.

Plus you obviously missed the real point: that one doesn't have to resort to calling Cruz untruthful names when there are perfectly good ones, namely: Traitor, Liar, and Perjurer/Oathbreaker.

The 2nd Amendment is a big tripwire; restricting it will likely cause a civil war or, at best, real civil unrest when the next Terror attack hits. Those in power don't realize how close the people are to considering evils no longer sufferable and invoking the Declaration again. After all, one of the obvious purposes of government is to protect from external threat… and our current government is not just showing how inept they are at that, but actually support foreign invaders.

#7. You’ve asked the key question, not only “How does one get on and off the list?” but we need to ask “What are the criteria and documentation that puts one on the Terror Watch List and the No-Fly List.

Sen. Ted Kennedy was on the No-Fly list because some Irish terrorist had the same name. You would think that the TSA/DHA would flag the name of a US Senator/Representative, etc when it was put on the list as NOT BEING the terrorist, though in Ted Kennedy’s case, he should have been on the Traitors’ List for his ties to the KGB (trying to undermine Reagan’s efforts to build up our strategic defenses against the growing Soviet threat).

If there were a Traitors’ List, it would included almost 80 Democrat members of Congress, from those with ties to the Communist Party USA and the Soviet KGB/SRV to the Stalinist “Workers World Party” and its fronts, IAC, ANSWER, PAM, APC and others.

In the past, dozens, if not scores of Democrats and afew leftist Republicans supported the Hanoi Lobby and its communist dominated front organizations, the Mobes, SAC, PCPJ/NPAC, and even Tom Hayden’s Indochina Peace Campaign.

Some backed the made-in-Hanoi “Peoples Peace Treaty” and the Socialist Workers Party fronts, WONAAC, PRDF, NPAC, CODEL, and USLA.

What we need is a new and powerful House Internal Security Committee to investigate all our internal threats and known enemies, as well as the external threats. The present committees don’t have the subpoena power nor the historical knowledge to plan an effective investigative program that will tell the American how great are the internal and external threats against America.

And this would include members of the Obama Administration since day one who are/were communists, Maoists, Moslem Brotherhood connected, ICNA connected, etc.

There hasn’t been a presidential administration so infested with spies, Marxists and anti-American subversives since the Roosevelt Administration from 1932-1945. Truman cleaned out some of the reds while other commies fled from government jobs, often ending up in the Soviet Union or Red China.

It should be remembered that the House Committee on Un-American Activities helped to bring down the Ku Klux Klan with its televised hearings on their ideology and terrorism.

Time to bring back the spotlight of documented publicity on our enemies, domestic, infiltrated and foreign.

Getting these stupid Lists set up right is the first step in getting any kind of handle on internal security. However, it cannot be done by Dept. of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, or even the FBI as presently led. Even the CIA has been crippled by poor leadership from Tenent/Freeh/ Panetta/Clapper/Brennan, etc.

And the Dept. of Justice leadership is one of the biggest obstacles to an effective American internal security system.

Holder should be in jail with Lynch on her way.

Obama should be impeached and jailed, and much of his staff also prosecuted for aiding and abetting our enemies.

I’ve been in the internal security realm since the 1960’s and I’ve never seen it so bad and dangerous as it is today.

To this Obama can say, “Yes I did”.

See my #35. If this “watch list” wasn’t being administered by the completely inept and corrupt Obama Administration, it might be a valuable tool.

You expect your candidate, Hillary, to do better?

There are already circumstances in which someone can’t buy a firearm. Generally speaking I think we can all agree we don’t want terrorists buying guns. Cruzer sheep stampeding to give 2A rights to suspected terrorists would be amusing if it wasn’t an attempt to depress conservative vote for Trump to the benefit of the Butcher of Benghazi.

>>>Trump slipped recently when he said he was here to protect “your 2nd amendment right”. Not “our’s”<<<

Wow, you got him now. Talking directly to an Audience and addressing them using the word “your” instead of “ours”, (no apostrophe required BTW) how could we miss that obvious threat?

At least he didn’t use “you’re”. The FR Spelling Police would be all over it. (I’m only doing FR Punctuation Police work tonight) LOL

Stretch Armstrong has nothing on you. #;^)

All that being said, it’s Hillary or Trump. The choice is clear.

If abortions are illegal, then women who have them have broken the law, and deserve to be prosecuted, and any men involved in the decision do as well.

He was right about that.
