As I understand, his team suggested and convened the meeting.
He has been meeting with US Christian leaders since the beginning. (there was a group who laid on hands and blessed him at Trump Tower as he began the race. Another group from AA churches in the Carolinas before the South Carolina primary and on and on*)
This group continues to grow. This time the original 500 expected guests has grown to almost 900.
*One article describes a well known Christian author, years ago, at a presentation promoting one of his books. He looked up and there was DJT on the second row. At the book signing after Trump told him he had read all his books.

Yep and it was posted earlier here. If he announces he would recind Presidential order 13672 that at this meet it would go a long long way toward advancing his candidacy.
