This Is Why You Didnt Hear What Chick-fil-A Did in Orlando After the Mass Shooting
Right after the mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub, there was an outpouring of support from people and businesses in the area and around the country. People came to give blood to victims, and restaurants gave food. One particular business in the food industry Chick-fil-A gave away free iced tea and chicken sandwiches to those helping out victims. And they even opened on Sunday to do it.
A Chick-fil-A spokesman told the Huffington Post:
While we have a corporate policy that firmly states we are closed for business on Sundays, there have been rare cases that move our local operators to respond with food donations to help communities in need. The events in Orlando stirred our local restaurant owners and their teams to band together to provide nourishment to first responders as well as volunteers who donated blood.
Chick-fil-A has been no stranger to controversy. The company and its CEO Dan Cathy came under intense fire in 2012 after he revealed his personal opinion on families and traditional marriage. Critics including politicians who wanted the restaurant banned from their localities vowed to boycott the company, and gays and lesbians staged kiss-ins at Chick-fil-A locations around the country. From LifeSiteNews:
While mayor of the nations capital, Vincent Gray called the stores signature Southern chicken breast filet hate chicken.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio groused last month that, while the store has a legal right to serve chicken in the Big Apple, he would urge a boycott of their stores.
Boston Mayor Tom Menino said he wished the chain should not be allowed to operate in Beantown.
The student government of Johns Hopkins University appealed to the university to ban the chain from campus.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel once said, Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values.
Ironically, while the media have branded Chick-fil-A to be an anti-gay company because of Dan Cathys words, he actually never made mention of gay marriage in his remarks on the traditional family unit.
The original interview that the media quote as being responsible for all these attacks and boycotts by the left was given by Ken Coleman on Kens radio show that aired on Fathers Day (in 2012). The context of the infamous quote by Mr. Cathy in which he states that our culture is inviting Gods judgment wasnt even about homosexual marriage. In fact, the subject of homosexual marriage never even came up during the entire interview. Kens question to Dan was regarding the growing problem of fatherlessness in our society today. Since the interview was given on Fathers Day, the emphasis was on fathers. The radio host chose to feature Dan Cathy, a father of two and prominent Christian businessman who has honored his own father and has followed in his footsteps. Mr. Coleman simply asked Dan to comment on our fatherless society and what could be done to solve the problem. Dan elaborated on how emotionally detrimental it can be when the father or mother is absent from the family and how fatherless children do not get the benefit of the balance between both parents. He mentioned an essential, emotional DNA that we get as a result of having a balanced family. Not one mention of gay marriage only the effect of a fatherless family on children. Leave it to the media to make a scandal out of absolutely nothing.
Nevertheless, if you didnt hear that Chick-fil-A had helped out victims, first responders and blood-donors in Orlando following the mass shooting, theres an obvious reason. It doesnt at all fit with the medias narrative that the company is an anti-gay hate group. Its easier to just ignore the story and pretend it didnt happen.
Did Chick-fil-A/s act of Christian charity on the Sunday after the Orlando shooting hit your news outlets?
Front page?
Above the fold?

Few things disturb Leftists more than seeing acts of Christian charity.

Continue your good works Chick-Fil-A. We know you are hated by those who hate Christ. Continue working to the end of the age, which is coming sooner rather than later.

This makes at least twice. It's hardly front-page news, but it was given equal billing with plenty of more significant stories. (Appear in order posted.) OK, my news outlet isn't the NYT.
John 15:18[ The World Hates the Disciples ] If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
15:24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.
15:25
But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: They hated me without reason.

The Left is so twitchy these days, that it condemns everything wholesome by reflex. It vilifies the object, and will do everything in it’s power to destroy it.
The good news is that the public isn’t buying in, and the more the Left pulls this nonsense, the more it will be seen for what it is.
THE REST OF THE STORY. One of the disciples then turned Jesus in to the Roman authorities for some quick cash, many of the other disciples either denied knowing Jesus or ran away and hid. Not a whole lotta love going on there.
This afternoon, first responders were treated to free dinners from the local______________ which opened on ______ for the first time. The meals were free and there was plenty of food for all. We have redacted the names to avoid traumatizing the first responders.
Clive Staples Lewis exposes this reflexive despite of the left vividly in his book, That Hideous Strength:
It is hate of the straight, and love of the crooked.
This is why I denounce what I call Churchianity for its emphasis on protecting a person’s reputation (under the pretext of preserving his “witness”) by keeping transgressions secret.
If the Apostles had lived by that code, then we would not know that Peter denied Christ, and that Paul consented to murder.
Last I heard, we were all sinners who had failed in one way or another; I think that was the point of needing a redemptive sacrifice by the Son of God.
