Global temperatures are heading downward, and fast

It’s no surprise to us that the “monster” El Niño of 2015/2016 created a very large global temperature spike, after all, that’s what the natural process that creates the phenomenon results in due to the Pacific ocean near the Equator not being able to dissipate heat to space as effectively as it usually does. NOAA says that “ENSO is one of the most important climate phenomena on Earth due to its ability to change the global atmospheric circulation, which in turn, influences temperature and precipitation across the globe. ”

But, as they say, “what goes up, must come down”. NOAA has this to say about the current state:

After dominating the tropical Pacific for more than a year, El Niño ended in May 2016. Near- or below-average temperatures existed in 3 out of 4 ENSO monitoring regions of the tropical Pacific. And for the first time in 2016, wind and air pressure patterns were consistent with neutral conditions. There’s a 75% chance that La Niña will develop by winter. NOAA’s next ENSO update will be released on July 14.

He uses science to debunk climate “science,” but he’s a denier. I love it.

And no, I’m not castigating you, rocket. I agree with the sentiment. Our world is retarded.

“Global Warming is now Global Freezing!”

Hey - get with the program. It is now referred to as “Climate Change”. And I can guarantee that the climate WILL change! Someday.

El Nino, La Nino not withstanding; I would not be surprised to see the beginning of a full blown, mile-thick ice over Seattle Ice Age in the next few hundred years just based on the past cyclical history. And it wouldn’t surprise me if we got hotter either. But if I were to bet, it would be another Ice Age.

We had a relatively mild/normal winter here in SE New York.

All except for one day when it was 14 BELOW ZERO in the AM.

I truly believe El Nino masked the potential for another brutal winter we would have had.

OMG “Carbon Credits”!!!!

The cap-and-trade system was invented by a 6th grader (I am not joking) who invented the system where the government sets a limit on carbon and trades ‘credits’.

The first politician to read it probably had to have the mess in his underwear cleaned up after they realized someone had invented a legitimate-sounding way to tax the air.

Let’s do a little thought experiment. While the sun is huge it is millions of miles away. The earth’s core is molten iron undergoing spontaneous fusion. Both the sun and earth’s core are about 5,000 degrees.

My deck is about 40 degrees or let’s say maybe 10 degrees C even down to 0 degrees occasionally at midnight in December. In July it can get up to 35 degrees C. Since absolute zero is less than -200 C, IIRC. Logically, the earth’s core is probably contributing a much greater amount of the heat on my deck at midnight on New Years eve. While when I go out to my deck in midday July the direct gain really warms one up! No question the sun contributes to the temp. of the earth. However, the numbers seem to indicate the earth’s core is more important by an order of magnitude. The core is what “warms” my deck up to freezing from absolute zero while the sun only brings it up another 30 degrees C?

Just one more example of the pseudoscience of global warming. In any number of ways an intelligent person should know better than be suckered by politicians into accepting this snake oil. Perhaps we can see REAL Social Justice when these folks are required to answer before the bar of justice.

I agree with you 100% - it’s either going to get hotter or colder. Take it to the bank!

A cool front (lowered the temps a few degrees, not really cool) just came through South Florida. That never happens this time of year.

No fusion in the Earth's core.

Pretty sure the earth's core isn't fusing. The earth would be a star if it was.

Take a look at this trend data from Yuma. Sure the hot days make the news, but not the cool ones. There is a chart a little ways down that allows us to view temp trends within the "normal" envelope:

https://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KNYL/2016/1/1/CustomHistory.html?dayend=20&monthend=6&yearend=2016&req_city=&req_state=&req_statename=&reqdb.zip=&reqdb.magic=&reqdb.wmo=

Trace the redline (actuals) between the blue lines (normal) and you will see the year trends cooler than normal.

I picked Yuma because it frequently reports the hottest days nationwide. This year overall has been cooler than normal.

Try this with your locale. On the weather underground page:

Go just below the daily forcast and select the ALMANAC tab.

When the tab opens go to the bottom right and select VIEW MORE HISTORY DATA.

When that opens, select the CUSTOM tab.

At that point you select the search parameters. I selected Jan 1 2016 through June 20 2016 for example.

Draw your own conclusions.

It has been in the mid 60’s here in Eastern Washington the past week and half after being in the 100’s for about 4 days before that. Up until yesterday when we finally got back to about 84 you would have thought it was the middle of March.
