Sharon Tate's sister Debra has handed in a petition with 139,000 signatures on it to California governor Jerry Brown, appealing to him to intervene in the parole release of a Charles Manson follower.
The actress was murdered by Manson's gang at the age of 26 in August 1969.
Tate, who was eight months pregnant by film director husband Roman Polanski, was one of seven people killed in two separate massacres.

ANYONE who so heartlessly tortures then murders an obviously PREGNANT woman deserves to be HANGED.

Jerry Brown lets as many violent people out of prison that he can. He has.
Had Van Houten been involved in a murder that was not notorious and not of a person that notable, she would have been paroled years ago.
While it is not a good reflection of our legal system, Van Houten is in prison still, because of the person’s murder she participated and because she was a member of the Manson family.
I cannot believe Manson would even be eligible for parole!!! Outrageous. Then again, we are talking about California

Manson has looked like he’s on death’s doorstep for the past 40 years. I have no idea how he commandeered the minds of so many people, including LOTS of women sexually. He’s not exactly good looking. It’s more than just drug use in play here.

I think it was the barbaric nature of the killings that got them labeled as too dangerous to release. These weren’t just ‘killings’. Lots of blood-indulgence stuff that was way over the top at that time. Carving ‘WAR’ into Leno LaBianca’s tummy with a carving fork is barbarism, 100%. There are photos of his autopsy on the Internet

Manson originally did get the death penalty. When the Supreme Court overturned the way the death penalty had been administered in a 1972 case, people on death row automatically had their sentences downgraded to life in prison.
Not sure if his followers also got death.
But its because of a US Supreme Court ruling that we even have to have this discussion about parole in the Manson case.
I don’t disagree with you, but had she in the same manner, murdered a check out lady at the victim’s grocery store, she would be walking the streets today.
Manson had a history as a pimp before he started the "family" thing.
