TransCanada Corp is formally requesting arbitration over U.S. President Barack Obamas rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline, seeking $15 billion in damages, the company said in legal papers dated Friday.
TransCanada submitted a notice for an arbitration claim in January and had then tried to negotiate with the U.S. government to reach an amicable settlement, the company said in files posted on the pipelines website.
Unfortunately, the parties were unable to settle the dispute.
TransCanada said it then filed its formal arbitration request under North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) provisions, seeking to recover what it says are costs and damages.

Canada was supposed to host the meeting early last year but canceled it amid tension between then Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Obama over the Keystone XL pipeline.
They should just sit on it and wait for Trump, Mr. T.
If they win, can the $15B be collected solely from Dems, please? For those who didn’t vote for the gentleman, getting fined for Ebola’s malfeasance would be adding insult to injury.
Just wait 200 days. Then we flow!!And open those wonderful clean coal mines!!
they had to waste so many years and resources over a “decision” that was a foregone conclusion with the DemonRATS
TransCanada deserves damages but the American taxpayers should not have to pay — take it out of Warren Buffet and other corrupt Dem donors — and mortgage Obama’s income for the rest of his life to pay a share
Only 2 replies .... we’re gettin’ good
I hope they win.
I hope they win.
Exactly. Basta*d Mullah obama should be paying.
Weren’t Hillary’s fingerprints all over this? At one time, while she was still SOS, the hurdles had been cleared and the State Department gave it’s ok as required by law. Then all of a sudden, she came out AGAINST the pipeline... Can’t imagine what took place in the meantime!!!! They really would like to believe that we can’t connect the dots..........!!!!!!
“”The Department of State did not issue a permit for the Keystone XL pipeline while Clinton served as secretary of State. Environmentalists suspected Clinton supported the project and was preparing to award it the administrations stamp of approval. But that didnt happen before Clinton left the administration and former U.S. Sen. John Kerry was tapped for secretary of State.””
