The US national security industry is planning for the impact of an unprecedented global food crisis lasting as long as a decade, according to reports by a government contractor.

The studies published by CNA Corporation in December 2015, unreported until now, describe a detailed simulation of a protracted global food crisis from 2020 to 2030.

The simulation, titled ‘Food Chain Reaction’, was a desktop gaming exercise involving the participation of 65 officials from the US, Europe, Africa, India, Brazil, and key multilateral and intergovernmental institutions.

The scenario for the ‘Food Chain Reaction’ simulation was created by experts brought in from the State Department, the World Bank, and agribusiness giant Cargill, along with independent specialists. CNA Corp’s Institute for Public Research, which ran the simulation, primarily provides scientific research services for the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Look past the authors name. Interesting info about possible actions should a "food crises" occur. Can you say corn for ethanol?

Sounds like what will happen if Bernie gets elected in 2020.

So this was a simulation, which the title of the article does not reflect (I’m shocked, shocked I tell you!). It would be appreciated if sites like this got the headlines right but they never will because they want clicks, thus the birth of click bait.

Sorry, I should have ‘parenthisized’ it as such. :>)

“Simulation” says it all.

This’ll prove to be as accurate as all those climate change simulations.

Folks, when folks can’t hack it with real science, this is where they go.

The only way masses of people can truly be controlled is through hunger. War games involving nation state bureaucrats to see what they will do given different scenarios is necessary for control.

Control, control, control. All they ever want to do. Sick of it.

“395%”?
?
Where did that number come from? Very likely from a few calculations, or from one of those much-worshiped computer models.

The equation, and the model, are accurate only when they are accurate. Even if the equation or the model give you a number with 3 digits of precision, that does not mean that it is accurate.

I’d say there’s a 97.2324% chance that the FEMA Contractor is stupid. My calculator told me.

“Four different organisations commissioned CNA Corp to conduct the exercise: the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Center for American Progress, giant food corporation Cargill, which controls a quarter of US grain exports, and Mars Inc., the global sweet manufacturer.”

I want to get paid for a simulation that involves giant, intelligent, air-breathing squid taking over the Middle East and causing oil prices to increase 394%.

Not to worry, this spike would be followed by a 394% increase in ebt benefits to even things out

“Food Crises” are not acts of God, but rather acts of government.

Governments use food as a weapon, as we see here.

Corn, a staple food in central America, doubled in price in Peru very quickly due to our ethanol policy. It had the effect of making poor people even more impoverished. The IMF approved.

Well, make up your mind. Is it 394% or 395%? Accuracy counts. LOL!

395% is a pretty good hint. Such precision in prediction is generally unwarranted. Confidently getting within an order of magnitude can show precision. Confidently being precise shows folly.
