ChristianMingle Opens Doors to Gay Singles Under Settlement
Wall Street Journal Law Blog ^ | 6/30/2016 | Jacob Gorshman & Sara Randazzo

The owner of online dating site ChristianMingle.com has agreed to let gay and lesbian users search for same-sex matches under a judge-approved settlement of discrimination claims. Two gay men filed class-actions claims against Spark Networks Inc. in California courts in 2013 alleging that ChristianMingle.com and several other sites in the company’s portfolio of niche dating services excluded users looking to meet singles of the same sex. ChristianMingle, billed as the largest online community for Christian singles, required new users to specify whether they’re a man seeking a woman or a woman seeking a man. The lead plaintiffs, two gay men who tried using it, claimed that the limited options violated California’s anti-discrimination law.

No, but I certainly would have contributed, and many organizations exist to offer legal services, monetary assistance, and other help if money was an issue.

Since the proprietors didn’t have the guts to fold up shop instead of surrender, their current customers ought to do it for them.

Good luck with that 3% customer base.

I’m old & probably not “with it”. I wouldn’t touch any of
these “dating” services with a 20’ pole. Just trust the
Lord to bring across your path the person you’re supposed
to marry. - FANG & I married 52 years ago this September
& have stuck for better, for worse, for good if the Lord is
willing. There have been rough patches; but if we are
expecting rose gardens when we get married, we’ll end up
being married numerous times. - I cannot fathom crawling
in bed with a man other than Fang & the idea of numerous
“sex” partners nauseates me. - It may not nauseate Fang;
and IF he takes a notion that some little piece of tale
goldigger will “nursemaid” him like Twinkie has - he can
hop to it - with absolutely no hopping back to Twinkie.
Too many of those “hot” looking chicks now look good; but
have picked up the AIDS virus from their many “conquests”.
The only way I would possibly have a SDS is if Fang
dragged it in on me. I’d be tempted to take my great
great granddaddy’s old Smith & Wesson & put a hole in
him that he would remember long after whatever “hole” he
may have been messing around with to contract such a
mess. Nope. I ain’t gonna play around with this subject.

“I think one can be both gay and christian.”
_______________________

That really has nothing to do with it. It is about the rights of a business owner to set up a dating site catering only to those seeking dates with the opposite sex. If somebody wants to set up a dating site and call it a gay christian dating site, fine, go for it. This is about gay people forcing their views on an established business, forcing a change in services offered to accommodate their sexual preferences.

Crazy, no hint of going after “Arab date” or “Islam Date”. Perhaps because Islam is already a Sodomite religion.

Then it seems the ruling should apply to them (or others as well). Actually, the ruling shouldn’t stand at all.

You are wrong and obviously not Christian. Read 1 Corinthians 6:9. Homosexuals get saved out of this behavior, not facilitated in it. Jesus died to save them from their destructions

...if virtually all Christian denominations oppose homosexual marriage...

If? Homosexuality is acceptable in the UMC, ELCA, PC(USA), ECUS and many more.

This world has gone mad. I guess I should be able to go on adam4adam.com or a similar gay website and search for straight women.

What an absolute joke Kalifornia is.

No, Christ = Eternal Life and Sin = Eternal Death cannot coexist.

Really?
The government Gaystapo agencies take a dim view of people who are normal Christians, they are politically unreliable.
Homosexuals are government property and everything they touch leads to more government.

I emailed them in the past about their questionable christian advertising. “find your soul mate” which is unbiblical. In the back and forth emails I got repeated answers about numbers of connections/marriages the site is supposedly responsible for but no real answer to why they use “find your soulmate”.

I got the impression they are quasi Christian at best since they seemed so concerned about numbers and drawing in more people so they can spout so many millions of users on their site (and pay fees i guess?)

Now i hear commercials saying “christian mingle, where “good people meet good people” what does that mean? Hillary thinks she is good. Obama thinks he’s good. I surely would not want to “mingle” with them online or off.

They will swarm the site, just to make it unappealing for Christians.

One can be a Christian who is struggling with the sin of homosexuality, and seeking help to be free from this lifestyle. And God bless every one of them who wants to escape that ungodly way of living.

YES you are certainly right. But only if you are either non-practicing Christian or non-
practicing gay. I know some.

"If this is a site devoted to matching Christian singles, and if virtually all Christian denominations oppose homosexual marriage, by definition, how many homosexuals are going to go on this site in the first place?????"

Sadly, many "Christian" denominations - Episcopalian, Methodist, many Presbyterian, some Lutheran, The Church of Christ, etc. - are all on board with gay marriage.

This is more judicial tyranny: Christian organizations aren't even allowed to be Christian anymore.

Are these denominations performing same-sex marriages within their churches? If so I clearly didn’t get that news.

Which could lead to a broader discussion, of what’s going on with Christianity today? Sinful behavior, in this case homosexuality, is now going to be openly approved of and celebrated?? We know this is the case in our popular culture, but churches are now wanting to be “with it” and endorse same-sex marriage?

I predict that some of these churches will see a drop in membership. Those who adhere to traditional values will depart these churches and denominations, but will NOT see any new members who approve of same-sex marriage. Reason being, those liberals who approve of same-sex marriage tend not to go to church in the first place.
