That’s why Germany and other nations are calling for sanctions to be lifted. A little bit Molotov-Ribbentropesque.

arguably, the UK was not the center.

not really. The Eastern European countries provide both a bulwark against Russia and provide educated and skilled labour — which otherwise the UK, France and Germany were importing from Moslem Pakistan/Bangladesh, Morocco/Algeria and Turkey respectively. It’s better to get a Romanian rather than a Paki

rot. Ukraine was not on the scope of expansion -- this article in fact talks of the Balkans, not anywhere else. And, since Greece and the eastern Balkans (Romania, Bulgaria) are already in the EU, it makes logical and geo-continuous sense for the western balkans to be included as well.

The UK isn't leaving yet...

because the expansion to the east of the continent opens up opportunities for western europe and enables them to bring in CHRISTIAN labor rather than Moslems — what is the problem with that?

That shows how little you know about the EU — any law has to be passed by each of the countries parliaments involved. This is antithetical to Hittie’s autocracy

And, in the Balkans, no one wants the Russians back - not even the Serbs who would like their help, but no USSR redux

no, similar to the USA’s westward expansion in the 1800s

Rot not. The eu/Germany have been messing with Ukraine for a long time already. Ukraine always was the breadbasket for Europe and it has resources and pipeline routes and strategic positions for war making etc. you don’t need me to spell it out just scan previous reports and postings and you’ll see.

YOU KNOW you know better than to think the EU is necessary for that.

Why are you writing to the other guy?

You’re both wrong.

I didn’t know all those muslims in Europe belonged to the EU

BOTH HAVE WEAK arguments easily dismissed

Hitler would probably have bulldozed the modern EU even faster than he did 1930’s Europe. And he’d have personally ordered Merkel to be married off to the first German lad brave (or desperate) enough to endure her cooking and having children by her. Maybe with the promise of a medal after the fourth kid - “Ach! You saw THAT creature mitout clothes! Shisse! You ARE a brave man!”

Merkel the hag and the rest of the EU marxists are chomping at the bit to bring Syria and other ME countries into the EU.

No, that doesn’t happen. The heads of state (collectively referred to as the “European Council”) usually let them pass by default; none of the member state parliaments have involvement in what the Commission does.

Hitler would give the brave lad who married Merkel a choice mistress.

I think Hitler would like some of the EU’s ideas. Like using Climate Change as a force of intimidation; in some cases it is more effective than SS troops. Because instead of having a select few enforcing the tyranny, you have a dumb down population that will shame a person for any perceived violations.

I can only speculate how Hitler would treat the migrants. From what I understand, he held is Islam in high regard because of the supposed warrior culture of it.
