Mika Accuses: People Are ‘Hostages’ To Notion Hillary Deserves Special Treatment
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 07/07/2016 8:38:18 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Mika Brzezinski makes no bones about being a liberal Democrat. She was big on Bernie, even more enthusiastic about Elizabeth Warren, whom she repeatedly urged to run for president. But while she might well vote for Hillary in the end, Brzezinski is anything but a Clinton acolyte.

Her aversion was on display on today’s Morning Joe. A clip rolled of Speaker Paul Ryan saying that as a candidate Hillary should be denied classified briefings, given FBI Director Comey’s finding that she had been “extremely careless” with classified information. Panelists Harold Ford, Jr., Jim VandeHei and Michael Steele scoffed at the notion that Hillary could be denied such classified briefings. That’s when Mika went off: “you’ve been hostages for 30 years! You’ve all been hostages for 30 years and you don’t know how to think anymore.” Mika recommended that people look at Hillary “as a human being, not someone who for years and years and years and years and years we’ve just decided is in a different category of humanity.”

Mika rips people who are “hostages” to notion that the Clintons are entitled to be treated differently.

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.

I watched her a few times awhile back. She actually sounded like she liked Mr. Trump. I guess that’s changed now.

I’m not sure who Mika’s going to vote for. I have reason to believe that if the Republicans had nominated someone like Jeb she might well have voted for him over Hillary.

In any case, what she said today could conceivably have an impact on undecided voters. Mika is certainly not part of the problem to the same extent as unmitigated Hillary advocates in the MSM are.

Would be pretty funny if she and Joe came out officially as not only a couple (which they reportedly are), but also as swapping sides with each other, whereby she’s now the official program “conservative” and he’s fully out as the “liberal”.

I do think they’ve had an impact on each other’s thinking.

In the privacy of the voting booth who knows how people vote. My uncle was a union rep in Philly in 1980. While he gave pro-Carter speeches to his workers he told me years later he voted for Reagan both in that election and in 1984, but had to keep silent about it for obvious reasons.

well, some say that people will vote for Trump even though they say they view him unfavorably in polls.

There was a brief period, maybe 20 years ago, when people expected that Harold Ford was ‘going places’ politically, and could eventually wind up in the white house. His career seemed to stall at some point, and everyone moved onto the next ‘new’ thing.

"Hostages"

Very interesting use of the word.

From Wiki: "A hostage is ... in contemporary usage, it means someone who is seized by a criminal abductor in order to compel another party such as a relative, employer, law enforcement, or government to act, or refrain from acting, in a particular way, often under threat of serious physical harm to the hostage(s) after expiration of an ultimatum."

Seems Mika is more taking about the Stockholm Syndrome - but from what threat? How is Hillary a hostage threat? Who is holding these people - Hillary? How? With what power?

I’m STILL in stunned belief about our Alice-in-Wonderland world. When I was brought up, we were taught that folks in a position of power and responsibility are held to a higher standard of conduct. The FBI Director told us they’re held to a lower standard of conduct, in fact the laws don’t apply to them.

My uncle was a union rep in Philly in 1980.

In the 1980's I was in NJ and a "union rep" was usually a made man who met with certain individuals at certain places to get their marching orders.

Was your uncle running in those circles?

Me too, and I think millions feel the same way. A very big line has been crossed. Something implicit has become explicit, something done quietly has been formalized publicly, and a new standard of overt, vile corruption has been forced upon us all to accept - and it's not sticking. It's a bridge too far.

Well said. A line has been crossed; a big one. We will find out in November whether the American people accept the crossing of that line, or whether integrity and respect for law is still alive in our country. If it turns out Americans don’t care, then we are done.

It's a shot across the bow, it's a declaration that a state of war exists between us and our betters — It seems it's time to use the Second Amendment, and I believe that investigation into our political elite will reveal literal, hanged-by-the-neck-until-dead Treason as defined by the Constitution; not on a small scale, but spread liberally throughout high-level government (politicians and bureaucrats).

After all, we know the senate committed treason in plain daylight (proof), the question is What has been hidden from us?.

"If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever." - George Orwell...

Mika Brzezinski knows the nature of the boot... she's on OUR side. Well, on humanities side... not the GOPe side. But then after how the GOPe has treated us, is it really 'our side'?
