I wish people would actually read the article before jumping to conclusions. He said Trump wasn't going to build a literal wall, but it could be a different kind of barrier (new technology, or something similar, to protect the border).

Does it have to be a wall? In certain border areas a wall would be best. But in others, what about motion detectors etc.? A virtual wall of employer fines, cancelling freebies etc. Land mines and then just guard the roads?

The important thing is a strong, consistent commitment to some/all of these. “Wall” is just shorthand to me.

No flaming. Just hoping to hear from those who have some workable ideas for this problem.
