It was three years before I saw it in the Yuma WalMart.

It’s just strange, I’ve got other things to hone my skills.
Take care of Yuma, love it!
I plan to “retire “ in AZ,,,soon.

Though I love my Ruger .22WMR ... ammo is hard to find and a bit pricy.

Well then, when you get serious, there is always the Winchester 52 or perhaps a Remington Rangemaster and some old funky Unertl scopes.
Be carefully. That's where plinking can lead you.
It did me.

And oh! Then there is Lapua and Eley at 40¢ a round and buying
quantity in matched lot numbers and measuring rim thicknesses.
It can get crazy, silly and downright expensive.
Sorta like...the first one is free...
Sears single shot and a 50¢ box of shorts 57 years ago.
There is no 12 step program for this...affliction.

I’m seventy. When I was in the fourth grade, my older brother would bring his Remington bolt .22lr rife to school for the rifle team, on the school bus! I carried his ammo: 50 rounds of LR for $.25. I learned to shoot with the peep sight on that rifle. Sadly, my old eyes could not even start to use it now.

Yeah, they've done a lot of work on them since they first came out. I have one of the first models, (before they put the flash hider on them) and they had a lot of problems with them. Mine literally blew up in my face when I tried to run CCI Stingers through it.

I sent it back and they reconfigured it, and now it works great. But I'm sticking with mini mags, because they work every shot.

Correction, the rifle was a .22 long shooter ... and we shot shorts in it also. It was not an LR shooter.
