I'm not a political analyst, but I doubt delaying the announcement will have any noticeable effect, positive or negative, on Donald Trump's campaign.
I was excited to see it though; it sucks that it has been delayed.

Actually I think it is a smart move. The announcement can wait for a more appropriate time. It’s not going to run away, and tell me when has a presidential candidate ever announced his choice for Vice president before the convention?
