There are very strict rules about releasing medical records, even to members of one's own family. They are considered private, and cannot just be handed out to the public.

Having said that, it sounds like the authorities have been grossly negligent - maybe even criminally negligent - in handling other aspects of this case.

Not in the case of a parent of a child who is below the age of consent, and that is the issue here. It also is not the case involving the 5 year old. This is a separate case that involved only one of the boys in the case with the 5 year old, and it’s about cuts administered by a penknife purportedly, upon anther under aged girl.
