Here’s one outcome of the Turkish coup attempt that you can bet on: Washington lobbyists will be getting rich off it.

The Podesta Group, a firm with close ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton, registered in May to lobby for the “Alliance for Shared Values.” That comically named organization supports Fethullah Gulen, the Pennsylvania-based imam that the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, blames, rightly or wrongly, for the coup.

Trouble makes these people richer.

They’re like that auto-glass repair guy in Brooklyn a few years ago, who drove around with a pellet gun at night shooting holes through people’s windshields.

It would be nice if a President Clinton would set our policy in Turkey based on what is in American interests, or even, for that matter, on some combination of American interests and American values.

Is Ira Stoll talking about Bill or Hill? Neither one are President, unless one of them is President of the phony baloney Clinton "Charitable" Foundation.
