I spent 27 years as a suit. I realized early I had a thing for Chiefs of Police that choose the uniform to wear rather then the coat and tie.
What the uniform says is that the wearer of the uniform is fully equipped and will engage as an officer as needed.
I am impressed that Sheriff Clarke brings up issues to affect other departments, meaning he is engaging with what is happening beyond his own county.
On the other hand, the suits were often looked down upon as a type of officer/agent that did not want to get dirty.
It took me some years to accept their choice to wear the work gear and be in charge.
David Clarke projects the message as one not to be messed with. Has Don Lemon made progress with his lesson yet?
Clarke strikes me as a man with Honor and integrity. Qualities sorely missing right now, as Director Comey recently proved.
Good on you brother, I spent five years at St. Louis Division on the SSTF and met a whole building of outstanding people. I am the better for it. Still alot of road dogs that don’t know or understand the I.
