Air conditioners and refrigerators pose as big a threat to "life on the planet" as the threat of terrorism, Secretary of State John Kerry said Friday.
Kerry was in Vienna negotiating a global climate deal to phase out chemicals used as refrigerants in basic household and commercial appliances such as air conditioning and refrigerators, called hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs. The chemicals are a potent source of greenhouse gas emissions that many scientists blame for contributing to global warming.

HFC's do not contain the alleged ozone depleting chlorine that HCFC's contain. R-22 was "banned" due to the chlorine. HFC is simply Hydrogen, Fluorine and Carbon. We use R-410a in building heating and cooling. R-134a in vehicles.
The Left is Luddite and insane....a horrific combination.

Kerry’ is immediately removing all air conditioning from his home, offices and conveyances. And air travel is out. Get up on some mules.... But hey, they fart.

Back in the late 80’s, Senator Al Gore convinced the American people that Freon (CFC) was causing a mysterious hole in the ozone layer over the South Pole and we were all going to die if we didn’t stop using Freon in our air conditioners and refrigerators. The American people went along with it and replaced every air conditioner and refrigerator in the U.S. with those that only used HFC.
Air conditioner manufacturers made fortunes replacing perfectly good air conditioners and refrigerators throughout the U.S. and then throughout most of the world. And, of course, Al Gore’s immense fortune couldn’t possibly have anything to do with this scam.
Now, John Kerry is trying to recreate this scam by telling us the HFCs that replaced the CFCs in air conditioners and refrigerators to prevent the mythical hole in the Ozone Layer is now causing Global Warming and will kill us all if we don’t replace all of our HFC using air conditioners and refrigerators.
Of course, air conditioner and refrigerator manufacturers are eager to once again replace the HFC using items in this country, most of which are now manufactured in China. If this works out for Kerry as it did for Al Gore, then Kerry won’t have to live of his wife’s fortune any longer.
The dems obviously have a “circular list” for the causes of “global warming”. They try each one, in order, until each one is debunked, and then start over again.
I think we ran this rabbit about “freon” years ago. It got “regulated”, expensive, and replaced. Turns out the main instigator of the “pollution” rumor was the proponent of the freon replacement.
They pick the items to ban, based on the misery level it would cause the public. They get the most attention. Meanwhile, a Gore basks in his mansions, Leo flies his jet, and Kerry reminisces about his “glory days” in Vietnam...with his Purple Heart and the bandaid that earned it form him displayed in the same frame.
As I sit here in 93+ heat in beautiful New England I wonder if these idiots realize just how many hundreds of thousands of ELDERLY, like me (80+) who are literally kept alive in air conditioned comfort Age, for too many, means the body can no longer tolerate or survive extreme heat.
That, of course, is of no concern to the “nobler than us” lefties such as Kerry.
My brother, who lives in Florida agrees that, minue the air-conditioners, Florida’s population would total around 5,000.
I’m sure that under some government edict based on the phony science of global warming we will swelter in our non air conditioned homes and businesses while Kerry and the other liberal elites will still enjoy air conditioning.
Just think - this guy was a few (stolen) votes away from being President.

I was telling my grandmother this just the other day but she did not believe me.
You DO realize that should ISIL, the Norks or Iran decide to nuke the States, the elite will have their government (read taxpayer funded) safe havens under yards of rock, concrete, lead and steel to bask in while the rest of us die from radiation poisoning, loss of electricity and modern farming techniques, filthy and contaminated waters, unarmed citizens as roving bands of criminals murder, rape and pillage....and more horrors yet to be realized.
You're so selfish to begrudge the masters their well earned comforts. They are doing it all for the children, you see.
