Sohrab Ahmari, Editorial writer for the Wall Street Journal, announced on Twitter that he is converting to Catholicism.

His tweet read: “#IAmJacquesHamel: In fact, this is the right moment to announce that I’m converting to Roman Catholicism.”

The hashtag “IAmJacquesHamel” refers to the French priest Fr. Jacques Hamel who was recently brutally murdered by Islamic extremists while serving Mass in France.

Ahmari was born in Tehran, Iran and moved to the U.S. when he was 13 years old. Though he earned a law degree from Northeastern University in Boston, he was inspired to start working as a journalist after the disputed 2009 Iranian election and subsequent protests. In his current position, Ahmari writes editorials, commissions, and op-eds for the WSJ’s European edition.

He looks like a bright young man.

I'm happy when any Muslim converts to anything else as Islam is the only major world religion which permits and even demands violence against other religions.

Fifteen years ago, you very, very seldom saw a journalist named Sohrab, Achmedm, Abdul, Afhram, etc....

Now, they are very commonplace...Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm???

Cheap shot, and not true, either at all.

Catholics & Southern Baptists are allies in Christ here in East TN and I don't know any different story anywhere.

I guess you don’t take the attacks on Catholics on this site seriously?

The attacks are not, as far as I can tell, from Southern Baptists.
