I often wonder the same thing myself.
Maybe they simply don’t believe in an afterlife. Or if they do, they’re so stupid that they think Lucifer will reward them for their service.
Re Lucifer, I have actually contemplated why he just doesn’t ask God, “I was wrong, can I come home?”
Sadly, the answer is the same in both cases: Ego aka Pride.
Well I have a large ego and too much pride, but I openly say here that I submit (happily) and will kneel down to God and His incarnation as Christ. Without a pause.
