Be nice to Hillary Clinton online — or risk a confrontation with her super PAC

WWhen the Internet’s legions of Hillary hecklers steal away to chat rooms and Facebook pages to vent grievances about Clinton, express revulsion toward Clinton and launch attacks on Clinton, they now may find themselves in a surprising place – confronted by a multimillion dollar super PAC working with Clinton.

Hillary Clinton's well-heeled backers have opened a new frontier in digital campaigning, one that seems to have been inspired by some of the Internet's worst instincts. Correct the Record, a super PAC coordinating with Clinton's campaign, is spending some $1 million to find and confront social media users who post unflattering messages about the Democratic front-runner.... [snip]

“That is what the Clinton campaign has always been about," he said. "It runs the risk of being exactly what their opponents accuse them of being: a campaign that appears to be populist but is a smokescreen that is paid and brought to you by lifetime political operatives and high-level consultants.”

The task force designed to stop the spread of online misinformation and misogyny is the brainchild of David Brock, a Clinton confidant who once made a career of spreading such misinformation...

“Find out who some of them are specifically, and call them out / target them individually.”

How can you find out who they are?

Find out who some of them are specifically, and call them out / target them individually.

I wouldn't have the first idea how to do that; but some of you FReepers are all up into FB and Twitter, etc. I stay away from those.

No wonder a number of current events sites are closing their comments section much more often or are setting a “flagging system” in order for Clintoned paid trolls to get reported.

It's been an online media trend for some years now to rein in the opportunity to comment, because of the expense of servers for massive amounts of data, the horrible flame wars and filth that was going on when the Internet was newer, the annoying spam advertisements , the targeted trolling from Russia (they have entire buildings called "click farms" where low-wage trolls are tasked with trying to influence politics in other countries), and also our domestic political campaigns like the topic of this thread. It's difficult for sites to get competent moderators, as well, to screen out not just profanity and obscenity, but also jihad recruiting or interpersonal abuses.

You may have noticed that a lot of sites now make you sign in with some other identifying site, like a Facebook or Twitter name, with the presumption that they have extracted your real-life name and info. It's a wonder that there are any comment sites at all any more.

The NSA can find out who anyone is, anyway. But then the expense of the court order would be on the media who published any troublesome comments, libel, death threats, etc.

I suspect that the Clinton Cabal won’t get much traction on FR!

That's a given! Except for the few remaining Cruz retreads who are trying with varying degrees of success to accept his unfortunate political demise and make the correct choice in a binary election.

"How can you find out who they are?

I was more referring to the Khizr Khan incident where people uncovered all kinds connections to the Clinton Crime Network. Not the same thing.
