It is Mr. Erdogan’s first foreign visit since an attempted coup last month.

Mr. Erdogan thanked Mr. Putin, saying “your call straight after the coup attempt was very welcome”.

Russian-Turkish relations soured last November when Turkey shot down a Russian bomber on the Syrian border.

The visit comes as Turkey’s ties with the West have cooled over criticism of Mr. Erdogan’s purge of alleged coup-plotters. …

Erdogan reaching out to give the Russian Bear a friendly pat. Good way to lose an arm IMHO.

It was reported yesterday that the Iranians asked for a meeting with Putin to discuss how to help the Turks best....

Good job, Obama with creating this new Triple Alliance and getting the US locked out of the Middle East.

“The visit comes as Turkey’s ties with the West have cooled”

Obama loves Erdogan. I’d say heated up with passion is more like it.

Putin has outmaneuvered obummer and hitlery at every turn.

They made it easy.

Now i hear this conservative guy is a mormon, the one running to knock Trump out of a victory?

I have mentioned this several times because i’m looking for verification AND a comforting reassurance that it will have no effect on mormon heavy states.

BTW, does anyone see a parallel with 1980?

Reagan won in part because Carter lost Iran ... and Carter lost Iran because of stupid meddling there.

Now we have Obama losing Turkey because of stupid meddling....

I would love to know what happened to take the Turkish downing of two Russian Helicopters last year, and subsequent murder of their pilots, to this.

In only a year.

Turkey must have had some great evidence. And if they did, that evidence would implicate either the US or Saudi Arabia via Israel (Yes.. don’t look at me like that. Israel and SA have had chats these past 18 months)

Turkey is one of the greatest international mysteries in my lifetime.

Would YOU trust Obama, Clinton or Kerry behind your back?

I'm where you are. There hasn't been anything that discounts Edrogen's allegations that the coup attempt was engineered by US interests. Keep in mind that Russia has suffered mightily in what was without doubt that US-engineered coup in Kiev.

Who knows? The US did not have bad relations with Libya, Egypt, Ukraine, or Syria. What happened is US policy was to oust tolerable regimes for friendlier ones. Why not in Turkey, too?

And what THE HECK is wrong with younger generations? They should be livid in their anger, opposing the war mongering and its architects!
