Now, good grades and early political ambition are practically de rigueur for future pols of America, but not every aspiring officeholder has wielded pom-poms. Corroboration of the resume line comes from a 2014 article in a local paper in Greenwood, Miss., written by a high school classmate who recalled how Kaine, as a “skinny Irish Catholic kid with wavy dark hair,” took up cheerleading in their senior year.

I was never a cheer leader, but I did love to dance. My partners were never guilty, then again if was the 50’s, it wasn’t at all like today. Actually I don’t remember any guys cheer leading. There were a few cheerleaders that could have talked me into it, come on, cheer leaders? Damn and we had separate locker rooms back then.
