What I fundamentally don’t understand is how the level of shootings in inner cities is tolerated by Democratic governments, unless it actually is some means of population control (note: it’s also very lucrative for country hospitals and their employees). If that was happening in a white neighborhood, the National Guard would be called in, believe it.

I continually wonder the same thing. At least part of it is Democrats don't understand that to control crime, you have to CONTROL crime. They keep coming up with that numb nuts parrot response about gun laws, which really have nothing to do with controlling the animals behind the guns.

There has to be more to it than the above, of course. That's just my partial theory.

That Lincoln hated blacks might be an exaggeration. He did consider them hopelessly inferior to whites. Doubters can refer to the Lincoln-Douglas debates.

Lincoln’s patron, Horace Greeley, published Karl Marx for years in America’s leading newspaper, and Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, a hot topic around the time of the Civil War, lent credence to Lincoln’s inclination.

But Lincoln had met with many Negroes and was compassionate toward their pleas that they felt like Americans who could never be at home again in Africa.
