City officials said they placed the firefighter depicted in the video on administrative leave. But officials say the firefighter, who has not been identified, retired before they could take other disciplinary action.
Disciplinary action? Why? Is Bowling Green, Kentucky under the Sharia? Is burning the Quran illegal in Bowling Green, Kentucky?
Im not in favor of burning books. Id rather that non-Muslims read the Quran and know what is in it than burn it. But burning the Quran is not illegal in the United States. There is no grounds for disciplinary action against this firefighter.
The incident was part of a lawsuit filed this week by former firefighter Jeffrey Queen, who says he faced a hostile work environment.
How was the burned Quran part of the hostile work environment Jeffrey Queen says he faced? Did the burned Quran belong to him? Did he think it improper for a firefighter to be lighting fires? Did the Quran-burning firefighter somehow abuse or threaten Queen? Or did Queen think it abominable to have to fight fires along with someone who disapproved of the Quran?
Bowling Green officials say the allegations in no way represent the citys values.
So freedom of expression is not among the values of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Noted.
If I have obtained a book legally, I should be able to give it away, read it, ignore it, or burn it.
See, now, there you go! That's the problem. This guy didn't get his federal grant. I'm sure if he put this to them as "Incendiary Art - Project 454" he could have received a $100,000 grant and would now be an art hero for his creativity.

Like I said here:

“The first amendment is still protecting everyone that doesnt need to actually earn a living.
And so far, they cant stop your SS checks or Pension checks because of what you say...”
The thing is, regarding things like baking cakes for homosexual marriage, too many people say that if you want to own a business you have to give up your religious rights. That is ludicrous. It is forcing people to be employees to earn a living, and even then, they lose their first amendment rights as this fireman did.
It can’t work that way, except maybe in the old Soviet Union, which it appears we’ve become.
“I think burning the Koran should be mandatory.”
Can’t bring a BIBLE into some MUZZY countries, let’s reciprocate...
NO KORANS IN THE USA !
Should have given him a parade.
Free speech PC Rule only burn American flag
I think it’s time for all the firefighters on that force to have a public burning of the Koran in front of City Hall.
He shoulda wrapped it in an American Flag...
He deserves a promotion....
This information is incorrect.
A simple Google search will suffice.
.
.
Should’ve burned a Bible and all would be OK for him.
.
>> “I think burning the Koran should be mandatory.” <<
Big ditto!
Give him the city’s higheast commendation.
World’s greatest sin....NOT!
Absolutely American, considering that we have been in a muzzie ass-kissing mode ever since these barbarians entered our country.
What do you think is incorrect?
The one case in which “Fahrenheit 451” is a good idea!
I could see it if he’d created a hazardous environment. But he should know what he’s doing.
Personally, I’d like to see a great fiery arch of burning Qurans - like from orbit - stretching from Sudan to Indonesia
Burning a Quran is a pointless stunt good for nothing other than venting one’s spleen.
How’s that illegal?
He should be fired... for stupidity of videoing and bragging about it.
It’s not against any law, but that doesn’t mean it can’t get you in trouble with your employer. Most things that get you in trouble at work aren’t against the law. Really there’s no reason to film yourself burning much of anything other than the desire to #$%^ somebody off, well he succeeded, people got mad, and now he’s on leave, unless he’s retired.
