Touring flooding, Trump moves ahead with campaign turnaround

BATON ROUGE, La. — Offering consolation, expressing regret, cutting ties with a controversial aide. Donald Trump's campaign turnaround plan on Friday featured the unorthodox candidate acting much like a conventional politician struggling to revive a presidential bid on the ropes.

Trump headed to flood-damaged Louisiana to express solidarity with residents cleaning up after devastating flooding that left at least 13 people dead. The trip made for a pointed contrast to President Barack Obama and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who both have yet to go, although Obama announced later Friday that he would visit next week.

Realize this is "day old news" but posting it because it comes from liberal WRAL-TV's website - amazed that they would still carry this headlined story even a day later than the event.

Also, they managed to leave out the fact that Donald Trump had a truckload of supplies sent to Baton Rouge - funded by himself. Not surprised this was left out.

I really hate the Ministry of Propaganda

He’s had SWMNBP in a tie race spending no money while she spends huge amounts on ads along with the help she gets from the GOP and the Ministry of Propaganda.

I agree - these writers describe Trump’s campaign as “on the ropes” (before this “turnaround”).

Obviously the writers have not seen the massive Trump rallies or heard the enthusiastic crowds at these rallies.

Given that, he has used the teleprompter more for his speeches, which have been out of the ballpark homeruns. I like the teleprompters for Trump. He handles them well.

Agree totally. What an America-loving President would mean to this country - we can hardly imagine after almost 8 years of the America-hating Obama in power.

Yep. The only good thing is that if any who are ignorant of what Donald Trump did in visiting Baton Rouge, at least they will find that out from this story which was posted “down the page” on WRAL’s website. I was very surprised that WRAL (which was formerly a Jesse Helms’ employer and supporter but which is now a liberal-leaning company) even listed this story.

Yes, I do remember. Very little criticism of Obama not going to Louisiana until AFTER his vacation is over......and he was shamed into doing even that by Trump’s visit there.

The lack of criticism of Obama - not a surprise.

“Trump is acting more presidential than the president.”......

Some folks have obvious leadership skills while others have nothing to offer but the color of their skin.
