I got everything out. I mean, EVERYTHING. It’s all tied up in commodities (my cars, tractors, tools, etc.) and real estate. And cash and junk silver.

I started this two weeks before the 2008 election. I purchased my “hobby farm” in central KY then, and moved there from seattle in 2011, five years ago this month.

Since then I added my neighbor’s 20 acres with two streams and a natural well. We’re set. Well, as set as one can be and still live in the belly of the beast.

We are thinking of doing the same thing. We live in a 250k city with 150k feral dindus....farm is 3 hours away in the Ozarks. 2000 acres of timber. 100 years ago my great great and great grandfathers grew soybeans, alfalfa hay, and cotton. They had apple orchards, cattle, and chickens. I remember my grandparents HUGE garden and we always had fresh lettuce, potatos, strawberries, squash, green beans, etc.

Wife and I are thinking of leaving the city and taking up a more simple life.
