On CBS tonight, they had a report on Hillary’s speech to the American Legion. Between “bites” from her address, they had a cut-away shot of the audience. It looked like the auditorium wasn’t even half-full. Maybe they got tired of waiting (she was 37 minutes late), or perhaps the Legionnaires were voting with their feet and elected to skip the speech.
My money is on the latter scenario. Vets know what Obama and Hillary have done to the military and the VA. And it was none other than HRC who suggested that most veterans are satisfied with the service they receive from the VA. Members of the American Legion remember that little observation, too.
The American Legion is a non-profit and non-partisan organization, and has been since the end of WWI. As long as I have been a member, they have invited candidates from both parties to speak at their national convention.
Yes, many depart the assembly when a less than appealing (to the members) candidate shows up.
Some remain as a courtesy, some ditch the convention-not wanting to be associated with candidate X. I would not have expected even half the auditorium to be occupied when Her Highness put in an appearance.
