It tastes over-roasted to me.

Apparently a lot of people agree that it tastes burnt to them as well.

Give me a medium roast Papua New Guinea any day.

YMMV, ‘In maters of taste, there is no right or wrong.’

But do feel free to choose to put money in the pocket of an avowed Hillary!™ supporter, rather than a local mom & pop...

I did not say that I go there. I only defended their dark roast coffees. How do you know your local mom and pop are not Hillary supporters? Baristas in general seem to be a tree-hugging lefty bunch.

I only use K-cups now. I primarily drink decaf because of a heart arrhythmia. When I was a Starbucks customer, I only bought bags of coffee beans to grind and brew myself. Starbucks stopped offering the Verona dark roast in decaf in bean form. Now I use Costco's Pacific Bold K-Cups and Barista Prima Italian Roast decaf K-cups. I have not been in a Starbucks for years.
