“Im thinking theyre going to show respect for the anthem and show them as being united in that respect. Am I missing something?”
You’re missing: (1) Their hands won’t be over their hearts which is appropriate. (2) The statement indicates this is all about THEM, and DIVERSITY.

“Seahawk haters will pile on them no matter what they do.”
What they’re doing is disrespectful to America. I’m not a “Seahawk hater”. I know/care nothing about sports. I know nothing about Seahawks, except that they’re a football team. When people here in E. TN, where “Sports” is a religious denomination, are discussing a team, I have to ask if it’s football or basketball, that’s how much I don’t care about sports. I DO care about respect for America.
I disagree. What they did in the face of the individual “me too” antics was beautiful and appropriate. They chose to do something that shows inclusion, as a team. They honored the flag and what it stands for.
Yes, the Flag Code does call for the hand to be over the heart except for military and veterans. But I wonder how many people really know that? I never did, I had to look it up. But then I’m accustomed to standing at attention.
