That likely nails the underlying deal, with Levin....the Trade agreement. They must’ve gotten to him with $$....to promote this globalist crap sandwich.

Wasn’t he anti-Trade agreement, at one time??

You must have heard a different show than I did.

Monday, September 12, 2016, (Gregorian Calendar) 1900-2045 hrs EDT, United States of America, Planet Earth, Sol, Milky Way.

I catch about 90 minutes of his show, every day, 5 days a week. Unlike some folks, I can handle hearing opinions with which I don't always agree.

I noticed that Levin started by saying he has three hours to get to Clinton's health, and led with the conservative historical stuff. He didn't start on Clinton until hour two.

I hope he realizes that his show airs at the tail end of the evening commute and that he should think of the first hour as Page One. Save the history lessons for the third hour when there is breaking news from the weekend.

I turn off the radio after 90 minutes when I get home. There must he others like me who need to be reached at the beginning of the show, not the end.

Levin has been burying the lede too much lately.

I lost him when he got hysterical becauase Trump said he wanted to renegotiate the trade deals. Mark went right to worst case scenario. Mark is a lawyer and remember lawyers are experts on everything /sarc. I heard his treatise on the Depression and tariffs and he spouted his limited knowledge and 11th grade history book details on what caused and exacerbated it and he lost me. I have a BS in Economics and an MBA from Cal and I can say without a doubt he sounded ignorant on the subject, confusing the Laffer curve, tariffs, individual income taxes and trade policy. It was a confused mess he tried to wrap with a Conservsative philsophical bow.

Yep. . .you are absolutely right. . .I tuned in to hear his spin on the Hillary health collapse and, instead, he launches into another lengthy pontificate on conservatism as a way of life. . .very preachy. . I'm going. . "yea, yea, okay, okay. . .let's get to crooked Hillary, Mark". . .then comes the utterly outrageous utterance from Levin. . .that "Populism and nation-ism (obviously refering to Trump) are AS DANGEROUS TO AMERICA AS PROGRESSIVISM!!!!!

ME: CLICK. . .OFF. . GOODBYE.. .YOU BIG DOPE!!!!!

I wonder how much of this is personal.

Early on, Levin had Trump on his show a couple of times, and it was all roses. Trump said how he always listens to Mark; Mark was polite and seemed to like some of Trump’s ideas.

Then, when Trump went after Cruz and started spending time on issues not in accordance to Levin’s philosophy, I bet Mark felt used by Trump. He had given Trump access to his vast audience, and now he wasn’t staying in line.

Same thing happened to Levin with Paul Ryan years ago. He was on the show; mutual admiration society, then when Ryan veered away from true conservatism, Levin must have felt used.

Levin is a conservative purist.
Conservative purists rarely win elections.
Even Reagan raised taxes when he was governor of CA.

I don’t pay much attention to Levin but what I have seen seems all TDS. To me he always looks like he’s got indigestion.

Mark Levin, a once great and reputable conservative icon, has degenerated into an intellectual version of Glenn Beck and a clone of George Will. Isn’t that true, Mr. Producer?

Sad. Very sad.

Agreed. I like Levin...but he has got to understand the dynamics of this election. Standing behind a podium and giving a doctoral thesis on conservatism won’t win it.

And his ‘free trade’ tirades are wearing thin. I’m for free trade, too...but these ‘trade agreements’ we have simply aren’t free trade. He won’t even get into the beginning of an honest discussion with a caller about this - just starts his rant.

And, what I’d love to ask Mark is, what is the alternative to Trump?

Levin goes on and on how we don’t know how Trump will act on certain issues, whether he’d be good or bad.

Well, we DO know what Clinton will do, and we DO know it will be bad.

So unless Levin is backing this notion that the country needs to really fall into the abyss a la Carter, to set up being rescued by Reagan (who right now happens to be Cruz, Levin’s first choice for President coincidentally), all I can say is - we’ve already had 4 utterly miserable years under the messiah and the corpse of HRC is still winning in the polls. How much worse do things have to get for that theory to work?

I feel the same way as You! Levin, Cruz and their supporters are not with us and nothing between now and election day will change that...However, I am certain that we will win without them. God Bless America!

Dunno what a “conservative purist” is, but I know the usage and meaning of the term “conservative” changes over time and location. Seems like the root meaning of “conservative” is along the lines of “maintain the status quo.” I notice that that in itself is a moving target because the status quo thirty years ago is not the status quo today. Mr. Conservative himself, George Will - I mean what does he stand for? All I can think of is the establishment and the status quo.

We need a new term and a rewed focus on FREEDOM or LIBERTY as our goal as Americas. It is the core of America and American values. Nobody knows what conservative means (line 20 people up and they’ll give you 20 different definitions of conservative). I think a “conservative” in communist Russia is a communist, I don’t know.

What we need is something that embraces PRO-CONSTITUTION, LIMITED GOVERNMENT, and INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM.

Somebody on this board had a saying: “A free trade deal takes one paragraph. These deals aren’t free trade.”

Very succinct.

What I have actually heard Trump say is we are going to re-evaluate our trade deals, and re-negotiate deals with nations on an individual basis - no more making deals with the entire Pacific rim, etc.

This actually sounds similar to what a company in bankruptcy would do...and it makes sense, as we cannot continue forever with our current deals. It seems logical, and measured...but Levin won’t even have a discussion about it, just a tantrum.

Levin, wasn’t he the guy that got outed for his conflict of interest during the primaries? And then he offered a cash reward to get the guy that outed him. I guess that’s what a true conservative does.
