Clutching his tiny American flag, Redskins lineman becomes a U.S. citizen

The latest story about an NFL player and a flag began Tuesday morning just after 11, in the great hall of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Frances Perkins building. All 45 candidates for naturalization held miniature American flags as they sat in plastic chairs and listened to government officials deliver paeans to the power of immigration. Those included the first two candidates in the front row, perhaps the smallest and the biggest of the 45.

There was tiny Dahlia Lyons, a native of the Philippines and the only military spouse in the ceremony. And next to her was the 6-foot-5 and 325-pound Arie Kouandjio, a native of Cameroon and a reserve guard for the Redskins.

At some point on this site someone posted an article which showed the countries in Africa which are doing very well, and doing things the right way (starting, by not listening to a certain Harvard economist). I think Cameroon may have been one such country. If anyone remembers what those countries were, or who has links to similar articles, I would appreciate it.

This story is bout how immigration is done correctly. You have parents who came to this country legally in an effort to better the lives of their children.

Along the way they instilled values and a pride for being an American and a love for country that many people sorely lack.

Arie and Cyrus are shining examples of how to do it right.

Alright, people, it looks like his jersey is not available yet but go the website anyway and flood it with clicks.

They (the NFL, that is) will get the message. And then once his jersey does become available let's buy the crap out of it.

“Arie Kouandjio, a native of Cameroon”

I wonder if Naga Eboko is his uncle?
