This Hayes: On May 27, 2012, Memorial Day Weekend, Hayes made comments on air regarding the use of the word “heroism” as applied to American servicemen killed in action, stating, “I feel uncomfortable about the word because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war. And I don’t want to obviously desecrate or disrespect the memory of anyone that’s fallen, and obviously there are individual circumstances in which there is genuine, tremendous heroism, you know, hail of gunfire, rescuing fellow soldiers, and things like that. But it seems to me that we marshal this word in a way that is problematic. But maybe I’m wrong about that.”
This Hayes is a The Nation, Rachel Madcow acolyte and lefty afflicted with terminal foot-in-mouth syndrome.

So is he actually instructing Muslim terrorists on ways to increase a body count?

Not really. In this particular instance the overall incompetence of the terrorist, good fortune, and the preparation of others saved many lives. Even when the terrorist took to using a firearm he only wounded his victims, thanks to a well armored police officer and the terrorist's lack of skill.
Chris Hayes' comment shows his ignorance. The "lucky" part was that the terrorist (or terrorists) in this attack weren't very skilled at what they were trying to do, and their victims were "lucky". The type of weapons used, as shown this morning, had little to do with it.
That said, I'd rather deal with terrorists using firearms than terrorists using bombs, and I suspect most law enforcement personnel would agree. But I'd really rather not have people with that kind of terrorist idea even in our nation.
Which answers the musical question “how deep is your love?”

Let’s see... he did try to use a gun, before he got captured, and wounded only 2 people. When he used bombs, he wounded 29...
