On the facts of this specific incident, he’s correct. The ineptness of the bomb makers resulted in far fewer injuries than would otherwise have been the case. Even a dolt can take down a lot of people if he’s armed and willing to die for his twisted cause. Had these scumbags been better trained in bomb-making and placement they could have inflicted significant damage during the commuter rush. I expect it’s only a matter of time before we see a multiple-shooter situation as was done in Paris, or a vehicle of mass destruction attack as happened in Nice.

It’s called terrorism. 29 people were injured by the bomb.

Not really. In this particular instance the overall incompetence of the terrorist, good fortune, and the preparation of others saved many lives. Even when the terrorist took to using a firearm he only wounded his victims, thanks to a well armored police officer and the terrorist's lack of skill.

Chris Hayes' comment shows his ignorance. The "lucky" part was that the terrorist (or terrorists) in this attack weren't very skilled at what they were trying to do, and their victims were "lucky". The type of weapons used, as shown this morning, had little to do with it.

That said, I'd rather deal with terrorists using firearms than terrorists using bombs, and I suspect most law enforcement personnel would agree. But I'd really rather not have people with that kind of terrorist idea even in our nation.
