An artist rendering shows the first image of a new Northrop Grumman Corp long-range B-21 bomber in this image released on February 26, 2016.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Little is known about America's newest stealth bomber, the B-21, which will replace the Air Force's aging B-52 and B-1Bs.

Shrouded in secrecy, here's all we know (so far) about the B-21:

•It will be developed by Northrop Grumman, the same manufacturer of the iconic B-2 Spirit

•Northrop Grumman won the contract in October

•The Air Force is slated to buy 100 of these new bombers

•The program is estimated to cost $80 billion

•The Air Force estimates it will pay $511 million per aircraft (in 2010 dollars)

•The new bomber is not expected to enter combat before 2025

•The "21" in B-21 means it's the bomber of the 21st century

•There are no existing prototypes of the bomber aircraft; however, based on the artist rendering, the B-21 shares some resemblance to the B-2 Spirit

•The final design of the B-21 remains unknown

It's reputed to be our smallest strategic bomber in at least 5 decades.

I read elsewhere that payload will top out at 40,000lbs.

It's also subsonic.

But nobody can target it.

And, just like the F-22 and F-35...they CAN be taken out on the ground. And you can bet that is precisely the strategy that would be employed by our potential enemies.

Looks like a little kid drew it (for reasons, I know).

We know one other thing they forgot to mention: If Obama gets the chance, or God forbid Hillary cheats her way into the White House, this aircraft will never make it to production. They are both progressives determined to undermine and diminish America’s influence in the world.

Many years ago, I was visiting my parents who lived close to the Eglin AFB reservation. I had been hunting and was nearly back to the house when a plane flew overhead. It was nearing darkness but I could see the outline fairly well.

I later saw a model airplane kit which was supposed to be close to the still mysterious stealth fighter. The plane I had seen looked just about the same and I just assumed that was what I had seen.

When the real stealth fighter was finally revealed it looked nothing like the model. It did make me wonder if I had seen an unusual plane.

I remember seeing a modeling kit based on what they( the model company) THOUGHT the Stealth aircraft would look like. It resembled an SR-71.

Very intriguing WWII German jet.
Which model is it and did the Germans put many into production?

How soon will they be hiring the non-Engrish speaking Chinese engineers in order to ASSURE that it’s stolen by China..?

So that China is RIGHT behind us, thereby requiring MORE defense expenditures.

The more I think about it the more I see how it would be an ACT OF FINANCIAL ILLOGIC for defense companies to make sure their stuff is secure from foreigners.

Flying wing aircraft are inherently unstable on all 3 axis. It requires fly by wire controls to make them work. So the German model was never put into production.
