Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, period.
It’s also the Holy City for >>two<< religions.

Three, actually. (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) A lot of the holiest sites in the Christian religion are in Jerusalem.
More confusingly, the city itself is divided into FOUR distinctive religious quarters (Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and Armenian). I have no idea why the Armenians get their own quarter. Almost, many of the religions "holy" sites are not physically located in "their" quarter, which makes things even more messy.
Anyway, it speaks volumes to me that Christians have no problems with Jerusalem being totally under Jewish control, but Muslims go ballistic over the idea. Tolerance in Islam is a one-way street.
Oddly enough, Christians spend much time fighting amongst themselves (the spot in Jerusalem where Jesus was supposedly crucified is now home to a church jointly administered by six different Christian denominations, that constantly bicker over it) than fighting with Jews or Muslims.
It's difficult enough trying to adminster the city's four quarters right now, the idea of making it a capital city of two different countries is sheer lunacy. An undivided Jerusalem should be the capital of Israel and recognized as such internationally.
(On a related note... I wonder if conservatives will FINALLY be allowed to challenge lunatic Paulbot Palestinian Justin Amash, now that he refuses to support Trump in the general election. Gotta love the hypocrisy of the "Tea Party" crowd in saying "standing with Israel" is the "most important issue" but then cozying up to that terrorist sympathizing creep and hailing him as some kind of constitutional guardian.)

Only One People have ineffable connection to Jerusalem, Israel, and HaShem. They are called Jews.
