Stressed out by U.S. election? Tune out and assume downward-facing dog pose

Stop reading the news and take up yoga. That's what some therapists in the United States are telling patients stressed out by a nasty presidential campaign in which two unpopular candidates are in a tight race for the most powerful office in the world.

While some patients are unhappy with the idea of a Hillary Clinton presidency, most are worried about Donald Trump, a blunt-spoken, insult-spewing New York businessman who has never held public office, according to interviews with seven therapists across six states and the District of Columbia.

The therapists said their patients have complained of difficulty sleeping, irritability and heart palpitations. They said they were advising clients to limit exposure to the news and take up breathing exercises and yoga to calm down.

Trump is succeeding.

The elites are telling their psychiatrists that they are completely stressed out and unable to function at the thought of Trump becoming president.

"I’ve never seen this level of stress and anxiety over an impending election in my 26 years (of practicing)," said one psychiatrist.

Trump is making the elites more afraid than they have ever been.

The fact is this same exact sort of story circulated in 2000 and 2004 when Bush2 was running. We read of visits to psychiatrists soared, depression was a problem, loss of appetite, fear and on and on.

The fact that Yahoo thinks this passes as “news” just makes me want to LOL.

Here is what is stressing me out. The tracking polls generally show trump ahead or close (la times, UPI, PPD). However, the regular polls all show us down by sizable amounts with less than 30 days to go. For example, today morning consult just reported trump down by 7 and Rasmussen has us now down by 3 this morning. This woman is a crook and a liar. She should be down by a considerable margin in every poll. I just hope the tracking polls are right and the others are wrong, and that’s what’s stressing me. What if the tracking are wrong and the nation commits suicide?

Trump bump. May these snowflakes feel real mental anguish that their days of making headlines are slowly coming to a end.

I was getting physically ill when John Hanoi Kerry looked like he was going to beat George Bush in the election years ago. I found my Peace in Jesus Christ. Go ahead and play dog but it will not help.

From article, “...Trump, a blunt-spoken, insult-spewing New York businessman....”

But she’s “...H. Clinton, a murderous, coffee-cup throwing, traitorous criminal....”

If it’s an attractive gal, downward-facing dog pose sounds interesting.

My suggestion to all you snowflakes out there is to head into your “safe spaces” and don’t come out until November 9th.

After another relaxing and enjoyable visit to my favorite winery this weekend, I'm definitely heading back the weekend before the election.

This time, it was just my daughter and I, we're both wine club members. Weather was perfect (80s with a slight breeze), and we enjoyed a bottle of red, and good conversation.

We arrived after a group of 8-10 women had had a few, and they were boisterous. They were obviously having a good time. A couple apologized for their loudness, but they were there first, and they weren't being rude.

That's what I love about the place, it's for regular folk who like good wine. They have movie nights during the summer, tribute bands year round, etc. It's perfect for Texas, and their growth demonstrates that.

It's not a place for snooty types, that's for sure.
