Wife took the daughter to Disneyland this weekend. Met family there for my sisters birthday. Saturday turned out to be gay pride day. My wife said there was a lot of me kissing and grabbing each other all over. Disney employees were wearing rainbow flags and having families take pictures with rainbow flags. Nothing like injecting sex into the “happiest place on earth”.

Gay Days Orlando is an annual event held every June as a vacation celebration for the GLBT community. The first Saturday of June always includes “Gay Day in the Magic Kingdom.” The event’s official website describes this visit to the Magic Kingdom as “the signature event of the week,” where “an estimated 50,000 red-shirted Gay Days attendees pack Walt Disney World’s original park.” While not officially sponsored or promoted by Walt Disney World, those attending also designate another day during the celebration to visit the other Disney theme parks. LOL, back in the 90’s about 40 of us men from my USAR unit went to Orlando to conduct a Military exercise, as we walked through the Orlando Airport Terminal we noticed people pointing, looking and staring at us (short hair cuts, semi fit men walking together). We later had a good laugh when we found out it was Disney Gay weekend and obviously people thought we were arriving participants.
Good to know where the money goes from $100+ Disney park tickets!
Nice that “conservatives” with “family values” support organizations that give their political enemies 3.2 Million dollars to cancel out your values...

I've done that -- lots of fun.
But, there is now a roller coaster simulator in Epcot, near the test track. The capsule is mounted on the end of the arm of a big industrial robot. The range of motion is much greater. However, I haven't tried that one.
There are tens of thousands of Muslims in Japan. A minuscule percentage of the population to be sure, but more than zero.
Wouldn't have wanted to wait 2 hours to get on it, though. Wasn't THAT cool.
I lived in Florida for my first 42 or so years. Since the park opened there were reasons to go every year - birthdays, school field trips, anniversaries, etc. When my wife and I returned to Florida from our honeymoon in Jamaica, we had a few days before we had to go back to work, so we went to Disney World. We were Florida resident passholders for many years.
That being said, when we moved to New Mexico we said goodbye to the mouse.
My wife decided to surprise me with a trip to Disney for my 50th birthday. It was not good.
I had forgotten how bad Florida weather was...hot, humid, and a tropical depression scooted through flooding out the stores in Downtown Disney. But worse was the people...the Disney Cast Members were fine, but the other guests were just horrible.
As for the cost...as long as people are will to pay it, they will charge it.
When did they remove it? My friend saw it this summer.
Zika’s not a problem in Orlando... Disney just doesn’t want to be sued.
As far as the Alligator problem’s concerned, it was caused by ‘tour guides’ tossing food to alligators to impress the rubes... I mean ‘guests’. That choice caused the gators to lose their fear of humans and encouraged them to approach people on the Disney grounds. Stopping the gator problem is really a question of stopping ‘the stupid human’ problem.
It was indoors in the main building that was mostly shops -- tucked into a corner. If we hadn't randomly walked by it, I would have never seen it.
Test Track was, though, and other than the fact that it had technical difficulties (forcing us to come back), it was pretty cool.
The test track always has had technical difficulties. When I've been there, it seems to be shut down about 50% of the time.
I forgot one other thing at Epcot: Soarin' It's in "Future world":

You enter the room and take a seat. Then the seat assemblies lift up and pivot, so they are vertical -- every person has a front-row seat in front of an IMAX screen.
The screen shows a video from a hang glider in a series of scenes. The seats shift slightly on turns, and fans create a breeze -- as if you were under the wing/canopy yourself.
An awesome experience, but a very long wait the one time I did it.
LOL! Yeah, one of the reasons we bailed when I got laid off/retired was the weather. I lived in Tampa in the early ‘50’s then again 69 - 70 in the Navy then again from 86 to 2011 at KSC. Got laid off 8/26/11 and we arrived in Reno 9/13/11. Also lived in NM and graduated high school there. We considered retiring there but the state has gotten considerably more lib over the years and there’s a state income tax.
FYI this is an outside organization. It is not promoted by Disney. Disney does promote “A night of Joy”, which is a Christian music festival. Additionally, If you visit Disney World in November and December they go all out to promote the traditional holiday spirit, with choirs, gospel music, the Gospel according to Luke, and Epcot has a special fireworks display.
Like I recently told my Christian brothers, if we continue to boycott places like Disney, we are in fact retreating. Disney and like venues, would have no choice but to cater to the people who attend.
