On a prior authorization the doctor calls the insurance company, not the pharmacy, to explain why the patient is being prescribed a certain medication.
If you call the pharmacy they will have the insurance company fax you a form to sign with a few words of explanation. Usually but not always.. but your right, sometimes you have to fight with insurance companies.
This problem seem to start at the onset Bammycare. Before it just seem to be a few of the expensive drugs. But I’m a “bit” biased.
Part of it I think is Insurance Companies, bigger part deals with generic dealers and big Pharma chains.
The biggest problem I see is that the generic delivery system usually stinks. Youngins no problem. Arthritic elderly, forget it.
And I always wonder, “Are generics coming from China???” I find that creepy.
