International governments have made a power play against Donald Trump by ratifying an international climate deal earlier than expected, effectively preventing him from “canceling” the deal as he has promised to do.
The European Union’s Tuesday decision to join the Paris climate deal will push the deal over the threshold for ratification; it will formally take effect in 30 days.
That means Trump, should he be elected president in November, could not “cancel” or renegotiate the terms of the agreement. President Obama committed the United States to reduce its emissions by 26 percent to 28 percent by 2025 as part of the deal. The agreement is nonbinding, so Trump would be free to ignore it if he wins the White House.

When Trump is “President Trump”, he needs to put getting rid of the UN on his bucket list of “Things to do”. Simply, get the U.S. OUT of the UN, the UN out of the U.S., collect all the outstanding debt they owe, be it to the U.S. Government or to Cities, Counties or Communities for outstanding citations. Doing just that will be a huge step to Making America Great Again.
Sorry, libs, but as a sovereign country, we can cancel it when we want. The UN is a worthless collection of D grade low IQ underachievers who are too talentless to even become politicians.

We could pay our fair share. which is about 5%, not 50%, of the annual budget.
All these UN hacks would no longer be able to jet around and live like Saudi Princes.
The UN and the European Union are both menaces to American interests. The sooner that both disappear the better. Kick the UN out of the US and seize its aging HQ in New York by eminent domain or just seize it as an exercise in American sovereignty.
I don’t think it’s that simple. We ratified treaties with the UN. I don’t think anyone knows exactly how many treaties entagle us.
But the good news is that we can get out of most treaties.
Not only that, but constitutional rights arguably ‘trump’ treaties. And here’s the fun thing — we can amend the constitution to scrap treaties if need be.
Exactly! Treaty my highly-educated, but redneck-at-heart ass! As I explained to someone (a dipshit college professor) this morning , “We’re not part of the European or North American Union yet and there is no world government - yet. We are still governed by a constitution that mandates the ratification of treaties by the United States Senate and we don’t have a king, not even Obama.”

The real issue is that the USSR never should have been allowed in the UN at all.
The UN never should have included the totalitarian countries as members. It should have been an organization of free countries only.

If the UN is taking action to prevent President Trump from doing something.....do they know something we don’t? It certainly doesn’t show much confidence in Hitlery.
The ability to sign onto “treaties” does not lawfully grant the ability to submit to governing conventions ... or “constitutions” as they are more honestly known.
We are NOT obligated to honor anything that the federal has no delegated power to perform in the first place, as it cannot agree to simply grant itself new powers.
Early on in one of his campaign speeches he said he was going to look at the UN. He knows it’s a global tool. He hasn’t said much about it since. But I think he’ll go after it, and stop the mega moneys the US gives it.
Alger Hiss and Harry Dexter White made sure of that by making sure the UN’s Constitution was modeled after the Soviet Union's, not ours.
But Foggy Bottom has been a snake pit of venality, corruption and sedition at least since the 30s.
I hope Trump has plans, to be executed as soon as possible, for cleaning out these pig stys that pretend to be government departments and offices.
