This storm is unique in the path it is forecast to take. That combined with the explosive growth at the coast will cause long term changes to the area due to the widespread destruction.

The storm is forecast to rake over a hundred miles of the most populated communities in the state as a major hurricane.

Earlier it was reported half the population in Brevard Co. was ignoring evac orders. If other areas in the path are the same(probably are), then caring for the injured and newly homeless will cripple local responders and resources.

Prayers to all in the area, and hope all can find a safe port for this event.

My father-in-law was one of those in Melbourne Beach (where Jim Cantore is now) ignoring evacuation orders. Until now! We just spoke and they’re leaving. If HE evacuates, stubborn old coot that he is, I’m hoping many others leave.

Yours is one of the saddest posts for me......
I live in Brevard County
......didn’t realize it was half.....who are not evacuating

....although I have neighbors who are staying, also a SIL...( who has an ocean on one side and a river on the other)

So the storm is so deadly deadly dangerous they are going to fly in Anderson Cooper and tie him to a lamp post? Aren't they worried he will be killed?

The only two important takeaways here after the safety of the citizens is:
1. Climate change is the problem.
2. More Government is the solution.

Talking Points flying at light speed across the wonkuverse.

it was noted earlier on the news that only 30% had evacuated the beaches. to me that is insane. of course some might think we are crazy because we are 9 miles from the beach. but we are not in any evacuation zone.
