Absolutely. That theory has already been discussed here and online. The Romney/Ryan guy leaked the tape. That was the first step in the coup.
Then they went to elected officials and told them that Trump was absolutely going to drop out. Best to un-endorse him now so you don’t have egg on your face.
The elected officials did.
Trump said heck no, not dropping out, and crushed it in the debate.
Now there’s a bunch of GOPe officials in an awkward position.
