The wind and rain are blowing hard today here in Oregon.
My Aunt’s beach house in Manzanita was quite damaged. They have been unable to get there. The neighbors say the chimney has been ripped out and most the windows blown out. Every tree is down, one completely demolished their garage.
The house is less than a block from the beach and every year our family on my dad’s side has a reunion in Manzanita. This year we did not have it because of the death of my Uncle who owns the house.
Manzanita is the most quaint beach town you can imagine with beautiful picturesque ocean views.
Oregon just doesn’t get tornados. Extremely rare.
So sorry to hear about your aunt’s beach house.
Hope all is not lost.
The videos I watched were truly frightening, the comments expressed much disbelief that this was happening.
Stay safe, FRiend.
Wow, hope that is the end of the destruction weston. We need a good snowpack in northern CA, but not from those kinds of storms!
Sorry to hear about your aunt’s house - what a shame! Hope it doesn’t get any more damage. OR coast is lovely with a lot of great beaches and little towns.
Hope you stay safe and warm! Winds have calmed down for now and only light rain here, but the winds are supposed to kick up again big time later today (probably coming up from OR).
