Well, a “Russian” Cyber attack could block distribution of Trumps message.
A “Russian” cyber attack could also sideline the Soros Diebold voting machines and force everyone onto paper ballots

And we are now on the brink of war. A cyber-war could disrupt online communications right before the election.

As Cboldt said on the other thread: "The story is pure propaganda targeted at the US population. There won't be any "ramped up" US cyber attack. Clandestine network activity will continue as usual, and both sides know it."

I think Cboldt is correct. The only "evidence" I have seen about Russian attacks is that the DNC brought in a former Russian (now naturalized American) to "prove" that the Russians were hacking into the DNC servers. You can read his stuff here: https://www.crowdstrike.com/blog/bears-midst-intrusion-democratic-national-committee/:

There is rarely a dull day at CrowdStrike where we are not detecting or responding to a breach at a company somewhere around the globe. In all of these cases, we operate under strict confidentiality rules with our customers and cannot reveal publicly any information about these attacks. But on rare occasions, a customer decides to go public with information about their incident and give us permission to share our knowledge of the adversary tradecraft with the broader community and help protect even those who do not happen to be our customers. This story is about one of those cases.

CrowdStrike Services Inc., our Incident Response group, was called by the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the formal governing body for the US Democratic Party, to respond to a suspected breach. We deployed our IR team and technology and immediately identified two sophisticated adversaries on the network – COZY BEAR and FANCY BEAR. We’ve had lots of experience with both of these actors attempting to target our customers in the past and know them well. In fact, our team considers them some of the best adversaries out of all the numerous nation-state, criminal and hacktivist/terrorist groups we encounter on a daily basis. Their tradecraft is superb, operational security second to none and the extensive usage of ‘living-off-the-land’ techniques enables them to easily bypass many security solutions they encounter. In particular, we identified advanced methods consistent with nation-state level capabilities including deliberate targeting and ‘access management’ tradecraft – both groups were constantly going back into the environment to change out their implants, modify persistent methods, move to new Command & Control channels and perform other tasks to try to stay ahead of being detected. Both adversaries engage in extensive political and economic espionage for the benefit of the government of the Russian Federation and are believed to be closely linked to the Russian government’s powerful and highly capable intelligence services.

The bold is mine of course. Not the most subtle of propaganda, but there it is: the origin of all the Russian hacking stories.

Just so. No evidence has been produced. Zero. Just a conclusion that is supposedly "correct" because an unnamed "expert" rendered it. Pure bullshit all around. There is no evidence, just a wild claim. But wild claims repeated by a lying press somehow become true.

No shortage of idiots out there who do lap it up as correct.

I guess Putin is an idiot then?

I guess I should have been on troll watch for the last four hours. I’m not saying anythign will happen, but word needs ot get out:

IF our internet shuts down, it’s due to Hillary’s corruption. And shooting from the hip insults might make you feel good, but for crying out loud, I put a lot of work in this research.

You guys might think you know what a true cyber-war feels like. It’s a lot worse than anything we’ve seen yet. These are just skirmishes, dry runs, and shots across the bow.

We’ve never experienced a genuine cyber-war yet.

And I pray we don’t ever experience one.

I hope that so much stink comes off the very thought of one that Obama rethinks all that bribe money his administration is caught up in to take out Assad.

It appears to me that you are applying my criticism more broadly than it was stated.

I see no evidence, only claims, that Russia is behind the DNC leaks. Second, a retaliatory "cyber war" is bunk. The US and Russia are continuously probing each other. Biden even said, when asked if the public would know a cyber war had been perpetrated by the US, "probably not." All the headlines about a US cyber war in retaliation is propaganda to influence the stupid US voter.

Your subject material is at least mostly (and maybe totally) outside of that field.

This is shockingly stupid. Are we really going to risk WW III with our tiddly-winks loser facing Putin? Is this to make democrats looks militarily strong so Hillary can win, or is it because Barack Hussein wants his terrorists to beat the other terrorists?

I used to think the Iranian regime constantly looked for enemies, and if there were none, they’d create some. Still believe that line of thinking is correct, mostly.

They use ‘enemies’ as a means to manipulate the average citizen, mainly thru the media, to further and implement their own agenda. But that is not exclusive to the Iranian regime.

The outcome of this election, imo, has already been decided. I’d be much more comfortable if there was some impartial, neutral, and objective entity to oversee the process to ensure whoever is elected is truly because of citizens’ votes for that candidate. Though, doubt an impartial entity exists.

This is an insightful & recent post re ‘Cyber-War’:

If people are concerned they should be. [more on that in last paragraph]

‘All the headlines about a US cyber war in retaliation is propaganda to influence the stupid US voter.’

We’ve never seen a ‘firesale’ level cyber-war, and I hope we never do.

I’m not saying we’ll get hit with one, but Putin was alarmed enough to the students back to Russia.

People should stock up on water and not have their gas tanks close to empty at the very least. Everyone needs to consider a long-term emergency water source.

And the worldwide economy is fragile. Not that gold is as important as it used to be — just saying that we need to prepare for shocking contingencies just in case.

I honestly think Obama wants to wag the dog and would love to goad Russia into disrupting our online communications [or say that he needed to shut off the internet for security reasons — if there’s still a ‘kill switch’]

But here’s the problem — if Obama’s advisors get too critical of his tacit reasoning he would need to back down or risk being removed by his own cabinet.

His cabinet would tolerate a lot of dirty tricks, but everyone has a personal breaking point, often due to fear of others’ perception.

If a demon from hell were on his cabinet for example [and could not read minds], the demon would wonder how much the US military and federal law endorcement’s rank-and-file would put up with.

The good news is that the current occupant of our White House is not Satan himself. We'll have to face that adversary later. Satan would be just as evil but far more intelligent and more energetic than Barack Hussein - a frightening combination.

I said that same thing way back. Glenn Beck kept wondering if Obama was actually the antichrist — ran some funny skits. Those were Beck’s glory days.
