When the National Enquirer reported that John Edwards was a sleaze, the mainstream press ignored it, scoffed at it, and mocked it. They were wrong and proven so, but their actions had the effect of delaying Edwards' fall by many months. I see the same thing here, they just need this to be ignored for three weeks, they'll embargo it and if anyone dares bring it up they'll be mocked and laughed at, the Enquirer will be called a worthless tabloid printing rumors of aliens marrying Brad Pitt and move on quickly.
Do people understand complicated pay-for-play schemes, or voter fraud like what's being outlined in the Veritas videos? For 90+%...nope. Can't comprehend it, or don't want to be bothered.
But, "Hillary Clinton caught in Lesbian Tryst"? Other than the mental image is barf-inducing, it's something that they can understand with a minimum of mental exertion.
