Terminally ill mom denied treatment coverage— but gets suicide drug approved (Death Panels!)

Stephanie Packer wants to be the face of a Right to Live movement — for as long as she draws breath.

“I just want to spend every last second with my kids,” Packer, a terminally ill married mother of four kids, ages 7 through 13, tells me.

Nearly two years ago, Brittany Maynard, at just 29 years old, became the face of the Right to Die movement now sweeping across the United States. In Oregon, surrounded by loved ones, she took her own life, legally, before a brain tumor could do it for her, with a self-administered overdose of physician-prescribed barbiturates. I supported her choice to end her agony. More on this...

Brittany Maynard's widower fights back after mother-in-law releases memoir Terminally ill woman who intends to end her life posts new video about her condition Wisconsin teen dies after ending care for incurable disease Terminally ill California woman holds farewell party before doctor-assisted suicide

But at what cost?

A right to die will immediately turn into a duty to do so. Those who refuse to snuff themselves will be seen as greedy on Healthcare and selfish.
Especially if there is money to be divied up.

Depraved.

Gotta get rid of the old Trump voters somehow. I keep waiting for the Left to demonize senior citizens for sucking up health care when those Medicare funds could all be given to new (immigrant) children on Meidcaid— “They have their whole life ahead of them...this is so unfair...”).

The new Medicare emphasis on pay for outcome vs. pay per treatment says it’s coming sooner rather than later. Euthanasia? Pretty hard to have an unsuccessful outcome. Brain tumor? Good luck getting paid on that one before the high risk of recurrence period is over.

Normally I despise "early voting" (early and frequent FRAUD), but in this case she should Vote Early and get the last laugh.

A right to die will immediately turn into a duty to do so.

A "right" to anything implies that someone, somewhere has a duty to provide it whether it is society, a physician, someone in "healthcare" other than a physician, or someone outside of healthcare.

There can never be a "right" to die because it implies a duty of someone else to kill that person.

If a person decides to commit suicide because of a medical condition, nothing stops that person from carrying out that desire without the intervention of society. The moral implications then fall to the person committing the act.

Morally, there should be no legal protection for anyone in healthcare for materially assisting someone committing suicide.

I frequently visit a cancer forum, and had recently struck up an exchange with a caregiver for a patient in New Zealand. The patient is male, in his mid-60's, and was diagnosed with what in this country, is a fairly treatable form of head & neck cancer.

The patient tried a number of different doctors' offices after the diagnosis, and kept getting shuffled around, waiting longer and longer to see this doctor or that one, each time avoiding oncologists that could actually prescribe a treatment plan.

He was told that his cancer had metastasized, and that he'd be given palliative care. (For those that don't know, that's sort of the oncologist's acknowledgement that the cancer can't be cured, but they'll try to make the patient's remaining days comfortable. Still, palliative care could potentially last years.)

In any case, they still have not begun treatment using an early generation platinum-based chemo. They recommended it in combination with a newer monoclonal antibody, but the state won't cover it, and the patient can't afford it.

The worst part is the mindset of the patient and the caregiver. They realize their situation is hopeless, and there's not much they can do. There's very few options for appeal, either. Sickening.

This is our future if Hillary becomes President.

My Socialist sister actually parroted Pelosi’s words to me when I was discussing Obamacare with her: ‘Americans over 55 use entirely too much of our health care resources’. I said back to her ‘Have I not paid for health insurance for 50 years? Do I not deserve to have my health care covered now, simply because I am not working anymore? Did I not pay into Medicare for 50 years, to assure that my healthcare needs would be covered when I retired?’. Libs are so easily, emotionally manipulated.....they don’t think past what they are indoctrinated to believe, by their Masters.

Zeke Emmanuel (Obamacare architect) said that people who are no longer contributing to Society have a responsibility to die. What was the cut-off age he dictated? 70? 75?

But when you try to tell Lib Americans what Socialized Medicine is really like, they say ‘no, no, it’s is all good. I know someone from Canada who loves it’. My response is always ‘is your friend healthy?’. To which they invariably answer ‘yes’. So here’s the response to that ‘Socialized Medicine is great for healthy people. You just pay an extra 15% Federal taxes for everybody else’s healthcare and never use the doctors yourself’. As long as you stay healthy, you don’t notice the lack of care available. And as I told my British husband, after an emergency room visit that was attended by very good doctors, there is a BIG difference between ‘medical care’ and ‘GOOD medical care’. Obamacare has already shown Americans that we have lost our ability to choose our doctors.....and to choose to go to a specialist when we need one. Market based health care could give those abilities back to us.....VOTE TRUMP!

Now see - there’s that corruption of the language again.

The left has made the word ‘right’ out to be a provision from somewhere.

Rights are NOT provided. They are inherent in our existence. We are born with rights. They are not given to us by the Constitution or the government in any way.

Therefore there cannot be any right that enforces itself upon another to provide as it would immediately come into conflict with another persons rights.

From the article: ‘Lawmakers in the Netherlands are considering a proposal to allow older people who don’t suffer from terminal illnesses, but feel they have “completed life,” access to aid in dying’

This is what happens when secular Governments take control. Those who believe life is sacred are pushed to the side and forced to live under secular laws. The Right-to-Die will soon become the Responsibility-to-Die. In this country too, if Hillary is elected.

Freepers!
When a loved one is hospitalized watch them constantly.

The new stealth euthanasia protocol is here.

Not enough oxygen, or water, or calories by IV or other means, Nov culture, just cheapest antibiotic for infection.

Weaken patients enough that they can’t heal or can’t respond to delayed treatment.

I have seen three hospitals do this and heard about 2 others.

Beware of foreign born hospitalists wanting to talk about quality of life.

That’s why I believe in home care...

Problems I encountered in a recent 6 day hospital stay for a family member:

In 6 days their was a different nurse every shift so that only once did we see the same nurse twice. Six days, twelve shifts with only one repeat.

The medical records were locked on the computer in the room and we had no access to review medical records for lab results, CT scans, ........ or more importantly, drug changes.

Even so, several times I caught several errors on medications given.. wrong dosages, wrong prescription....

Constant interruptions by different staff... at least ten different staff in the room on a typical day.

No rest time due to night time workers waking the person up to draw blood, meds, .......

No food unless you called room service and ordered it.

Two hour wait in ER for triage nurse to look at patient upon arrival. Six hours to treatment...

This was a very large hospital.....

If it’s terminal, use hospice, but never give up your own right to decide treatment or no treatment. Just yesterday I told a hospice intake nurse that I was close to terminating them and switching hospice services to another one that is far better and that I used before.
