The Lonely Life of a Republican Woman
The New York Times ^ | October 27, 2016 | S. E. Cupp

Posted on 10/27/2016 7:36:44 PM PDT by EveningStar

As has become typical in an election marked by its often unpleasant surprises, I awoke to a storm of outrage on Twitter on Wednesday morning. Newt Gingrich had told Fox’s Megyn Kelly that she was “fascinated with sex” and didn’t “care about public policy.”

Mr. Gingrich unleashed this boorish attack after Ms. Kelly tried to pin him down on whether the many accusations of sexual assault against Donald J. Trump, and his own words on the matter, should disqualify him from the presidency.

That Mr. Gingrich (with whom I once hosted a television show) thought the best way to deflect attention from Mr. Trump’s awful behavior with women was to attack another woman tells you so much about the depths to which Mr. Trump has dragged the Republican Party.

It’s also a sobering harbinger of how hard it’s going to be for the party to win back Republican women, let alone appeal to new female voters in the future.

As a conservative woman who wanted very much to support the Republican nominee, it’s been a deeply disappointing year and a half. After helping the Republican National Committee address some of the troubling deficiencies the party faced after 2012, as outlined in its so-called autopsy report, and witnessing some real progress in our outreach to women in the ensuing years, I did not expect an egomaniacal arsonist to come along and set all that ablaze.

This is an Op-Ed. In other words, it is not from the editorial board of this publication. It is from an independent writer.

When has S.E Cupp been right about anything?

That said, the GOP needs to burn to the ground.

Its outlived its usefulness.

S.E. Cupp is the so-called “conservative” who literally weeped with joy on the air on CNN when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of “gay marriage.” She has blasted the GOP as racist. She is as “Republican” as David Brooks. No wonder she ran to the NYTimes for this tripe.

Yeah, but they published it, as yet another lie filled diatribe against Donald Trump.

If the author wasn't just a propagandist for the left, she would have seen Ms. Kelly's bias when Kelly refused to use the same phrase "sexual predator" to describe Bill Clinton that she misleadingly applied to Mr. Trump.

Mr. Gingrich challenged her to say the phrase, but Ms. Kelly wouldn't, even though Clinton's actions have been well documented in legal proceedings and his impeachment.

Mr. Gingrich unleashed this boorish attack

Um, no. Ms. Kelly attacked Trump by outrageously calling him a "sexual predator."

I quit the GOP when it began being a rubber-stamp for Obama.

It would act exactly the same under Hillary.

And I asked myself why we need it. I voted no confidence in the party.

Its actions prove its not deserving of our trust.

‘best way to deflect attention from Mr. Trump’s awful behavior with women was to attack another woman tells you so much about the depths to which Mr. Trump has dragged the Republican Party.’

All these women have the big brass ones until a man calls them on it and then they complain about being bullied.

Portraying Megyn Kelly as some kind of a victim actually sets back women.

Is this what the New York Times thinks?

Or is it what Hillary Clinton tells them to think?

S.E. Cupp —who really calls her “S.E”...?

Why not just call her SARAH? Cuz that’s her first name, ya know.

It’s not a hard and fast rule, really, but before you get called something like “JD Salinger” or “JK Rawlings”, you sorta have to do something BIG.

She is a freaking FORMER BALLERINA.

And she’s not bad looking, but she understood her daily bread was going to involve BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

So she cooked up that STUPID name.

It’s ridiculous.

She is a PET conservative, and she’s NOT a conservative at all.
