17th Amendment????? What on earth does POPULAR ELECTION of SENATORS have to do with the consistent IL choices between crap and crud? How about IL's insane laws? No party registration to see that those who choose a party's candidates MUST be party members, cannot pull last minute switches from the other party? Insider control of election of state central committee members? Control of the IL GOP as a wholly owned supine subsidiary of the Chicago Machine? There is no Republican Party only the Uniparty.

Nancyboy Kirk? Tammy QuackQuack? What IS the difference?

2018: Bruce Babykiller Rauner? Whatever babykilling communist the Dems nominate? What's the difference? Whatever spineless leftist babykilling trash the "GOP-E" chooses to nominate? Whichever babykilling communist the Demonrats choose to nominate? What's the difference?

I would not hold my breath waiting for them to call back. I have learned from experience that the Republicans consider their voters to be whores. They are only to be used at election time and then discarded. Unfortunately for me, It took me until the 2014 election to realize this. This election, I will vote for 2 Republicans: Donald Trump, in part, because the Republican Party Elites hate him for running against their goddess, Hillary Roddam Clinton and Dennis Ross because he supports Donald Trump. The rest of the Republicans on the ballot where I live can go kiss Hillary’s ass.

I really haven't decided whether to vote and, if so for whom. Last time I voted for the Demogangster Alex Giannoulias over Nancyboy Kirk and would gladly do it again BUT QuackQuack is not Giannoulias. Of course, neither is the GOP-E slime known as Nancyboy.

Before I cast a previously unimaginable vote for Nancyboy, I need to be convinced of each and every one of the following:

1. "Control" of the Senate is genuinely in play.

2. Kirk CAN win (not likely).

3. Kirk CAN BE DEPENDED UPON to vote with "Republicans" to organize the Senate.

4. Kirk will vote against ANY SCOTUS nominee of Her Satanic Majesty or any other babykilling Demonrat POTUS and FOR any pro-life SCOTUS nominee of Trump or any.

In the unlikely event that Nancyboy can convince ME in the next ten days that 1-4 are true, then MAYBE, just this one time I would vote for the POS and, if not on 1-4, either a write-in or a third party (also unlikely) or no vote at all. My harder line wife has already firmly decided on no vote. Neither of us are voting for Congressquisling Adam Showboat Kinzinger, unopposed servant of Wall Street, K Street and the US Chambers of Crony Commerce.

As to your capitalized first paragraph, NONE of them give a crap what any of us think. They don't care whether we are "watching." They have contempt for mere citizens because we keep on coming up with excuses to vote for the "lesser evil" which is nonetheless EVIL. Once elected, they do what big business pleases. Primary or election defeat is the only language that gets their attention (on their way out the door). Hear anything from Eric Cantor lately?

Spineless GOP-E or Demonrat, let the body count escalate to the sky? The sound of whimpering Congresswhores is sweet to the ear of a patriot.

Why would you vote for her?????

********************

Because she’s not Mark Kirk.

However, I won’t vote for either one.

Wow, Kirk is even dumber than I imagined. Senator Duckworth will be sworn in now for sure.

The Democrats are going to make him the Todd Akin of 2016.

Looks to me like Kirk is doing that all on his own.

A conservative Libertarian in the Senate race would tempt me, we had one in 2010 and I voted for him for the full term after talking myself into it.

We have a Libertarian nominee this time. He loves fags, drugs, and illegals. He doesn't doesn't tempt me to waste my vote with the mathematical equivalent of skipping the race, not this time.

This disgusting Suckworth creature will be a Senator for 30 years if she wins. I'm voting for a Republican I don't like to try and stop that. I don't care whether Kirk and Trump like each other, nothing will dissuade me for voting for both of them to register my opposition to their disgusting opponents. Kirk is scared of being tied to Trump who is gonna lose this state big, it's cowardly of him but it really doesn't mean much to me, I already know and accept that Kirk is half a Republican at best and I'm willing to settle for that in this state, my other Senator and my Congressman vote my way zero% of the time.

As for his comment, stupid, sounds like he forgot that she's part White, brain fart, potentially worrisome as he did have a stroke.

Without the Seventeenth Amendment, Michael Madigan would be appointing both Senators from Illinois.

Yep. The Libertarian who ran against Kirk in 2010 was a decent pro-life conservative. I didn't agree with him on everything, he was more of a Ron Paul style Republican (and he admitted as such) but I agreed with him on 80% of the issues so it was easy to cast a vote for him over the liberal Mark Kirk.

Sadly, we don't have that option this time around. The Libertarian nominee is awful. Loudly pro-abortion, pro-illegal, and pro-gay "rights". Some of his supporters are trying to pimp his candidacy to GOP voters because he's pro-gun rights, but I'm not a single issue voter and I can't vote for a guy who's campaigning to the right of Kirk on two issues (guns and taxes) when he's campaigning to the LEFT of him on half a dozen others. He and Gary Johnson even agree with forcing bakeries to bake "celebrate gay marriage" cakes for homos. (Kent McMillian crows that he thinks that "won't even be an issue in a few years because anyone with an antiqued view against marriage rights will be dead or have changed their mind") I guess they're not for "liberty" for anyone who disagrees with them.

BTW, is it just mean, or does the Libertarian candidate for U.S. Senate in Illinois look like Norm from Cheers?

Even the people who filed paperwork to run as a write-in candidate are awful. One of them is running a single issue campaign to represent the "undocumented community" in the Senate (and be "Illinois' first latina senator") and another one is against Kirk because he's "too partisan and beholden to his party")

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to undervote and skip the Senate race on the ballot. (I'm tempted to cast a meaningless write-in vote for Peter Fitzgerald, but it won't be counted and it might give the RAT election officials in Crook County an excuse to throw out my entire ballot)

On a related note, given the turd candidates we have here in Illinois, its hard for me to sympathize with the FReepers in other states screaming bloody murder over a GOP Senator who does what they want 80% of the time. A guy like Marco Rubio stabbed us in the back on illegals, but got it right on EVERYTHING ELSE (unlike Kirk who stabbed us in the back on EVERYTHING ELSE). Rubio looks like Jesse Helms next to Kirk. I wish we could have Republican candidates as "bad" as him. I could easily vote for many of the other Republican Senators, even the squishy ones. Try having a GOP senator who is "proud" of his "F-" rating from the NRA.

BTW, I have heard rumors from second hand sources that say Kirk is still trying to win this campaign but internally his team believes he'll lose. As such, he is already putting out feelers to line up a higher paid lobbyist job for him in a few months.

I don't know if there's any truth to this. The numbers show Kirk is running ahead of Trump in every area, but still behind Duckworthless anyway. Looking at it objectively, his latest quip about her ancestry was extremely stupid and gave the RATs ammo they didn't need, and the damage was entirely self-inflicted. However, Impy has a valid point that IF Kirk was a conservative, people would be on here defending his comments tooth-and-nail.

I think the combine is most likely staying out of the Senate race, and doesn't "need" Kirk anymore since he suffered a stroke and is no longer effective at being the public face of "bipartisan" support for Obama's policies.

From my admittedly unscientific poll of fellow Illinois conservatives, I expect there will be a record number of voters who skip the Senate race on the ballot this year. (I also expect a record number of write-in votes for president, but most of them won't even be validly cast, and there is huge talk from disgruntled lefties about writing in Bernie Sanders for President)

“...Donald Trump’s latest statements, in context with past attacks on Hispanics, women and the disabled like me, make it certain that I cannot and will not support my party’s nominee for President”

— Mark Kirk

It’s quite the party trick how he can bit himself in the ass.
